So I'm taking a distance ed class and the lectures are all real media. I've installed the real media alternative codec and can play them in WMPlayer but it looks so bad I can't read the text. Is there any other slick way around this? I would be more than willing to reencode all of them to a sane format if I never have to install real player on my computer.

as long as you go through and uncheck all the file associations during the install and disable the message center, i've never had a problem with real player on my computer.]

I can't even tell the res. I tried some seemingly nifty batch converter called tinra but I only got sound, no video. 260mb rm for roughly 96kbps sound and ~60min of video no idea the res but its probably 320x240.
