question for you: what happens when stuff is returned as defective and it really IS defective? does your store absorb the cost for that product or is your money refunded by the manufacturer?for example, before targus FINALLY changed their design, i bought one of their laptop power bricks to replace mine, which had died...well, the stupid thing died after a month, and instead of paying $20 to ship it back to targus, i went to BB, bought a new one, and returned the old one in the packaging as "defective" on the new receipti did this (literally) 3 or 4 times, since they KEPT dying...yes, i could have bought a different brand, but i'd already doled out $80 for that onei'm about to do it again, with a different product, but i feel bad because i don't want BB/CC to be penalized, i want the manufacturer to pay for producing and selling absolute crapso what happens to the defective stuff?

it gets sent back to the company.

Back to company, no one but the manufacturer or distributer eats it. Where we order from the companies dont even want it back, most of the times they credit it and people buy lots of the damaged goods lol.

^^ i don't feel bad for THEM...it's just that i don't think they're the ones that should pay since it's not their mistake, it's the manufacturer's...though now that i know that i can stick it to the manufacturer, i'm going to do this even more

The manufacturer gives them credit for the returned products the vast majority of the time. Any small electronic falls in this category (other than computers). Some accessories they don't get credit for at all but on most of those they have like a 900% margin (19.99 thing cost them 2.13, etc). Large electronics and appliances they usually send back for repair and then put them back on the floor as "open box" when they come back. Unless you get a really good deal on an open box item I would avoid it like the plague.I can pretty much guarantee you they are not losing on that cord you keep bringing back. They get credit for it & they probably had a retarded markup on it. ]
