I'm going to regret putting this in Chit Chat but ya'll give good advice at timesWhen I graduate I am thinking of signing up with Manpower has anybody had any experience with them? When I look for reviews they are all bad and kind of scary. Thanks!

Only the bears are bad and scaryThats why you should go for the twinks

I know two people that have worked with themmixed experiences, but overall pretty good at what they do

YeahDon't fucking do it if you're going to be a contract worker. If you're just going to do misc temp jobs, and for short-term, you should be good. Basically, don't expect them to be competent, fair, do anything HR-related, or to do anything but tell you where you're working.]

I worked for them for 2 weeks as a temp for the same company I had worked for after it had shut down. Kind of unique situation but Manpower paid me on time and I never had any complaints.

Their on-site coordinators are a total crapshoot. They really don't give a damn about their worth. At mom's work, there are a few, because there are many contract employees, and IIRC, there is one worth her salt. The rest don't sit around and twiddle their thumbs, but instead, actively seek to cause trouble, like fucking around with scheduling (Mom is pretty damn sick...she had asked for, and gotten, approval to shorten her lunch times so she could have a Friday off after an endoscopy, and then another sup tried to raise a stink. They don't manage...she was talking to me Tuesday night about a girl there who didn't know how to handle a call, so she put the caller on hold, and for [mom timed her] played with her braids for five minutes before she got back on the phone to say she couldn't handle the call and would escalate. This behavior is tolerated)The benefits are shit (like, non-existent, but so that my parents don't have that dreaded lapse of insurance coverage, they're paying insane premiums for what is practically no insurance)I called my mom to ask for info on the insurance benefits to give you, and she says that whether you're with a franchise office or corporate makes a big difference. It was with franchise that she had semi-decent insurance. She doesn't have access to her benefits book right now, she said. We have practically no coverage on anything. I think my folks are gonna max out their prescription drug coverage with the first Rxs they get filled (they saw this coming, so got all their Rxs done in the greatest quantity possible, and filled, and where applicable, higher doses so they could split pills)She said most of the single people at work with no children didn't get the insurance. If you want, and this goes for anyone, I will PM you her email address and you can ask her questions[Edited on January 10, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Reason : I could go on and on but I have other things to be upset about]

manpower aint bad. make sure you only get the short jobs, and its more interesting. you can do all kinds of different stuff, from clerical work to loading trucks, and it can be a good deal for people who don't like regular jobs.

Well, are benefits something very important to you? Is this just something to tide you over til you find a permanent career job?

most holding me over until I get a real job. I'll have a MS so I should be able to find something. This is more of a back up plan if I can't find a job before I graduate.
