Anyone have any experience using a phone that can only utilize 1900 mhz on AT&T? Supposedly from my readings NC, SC, and eastern TN are exclusively 1900, no 850 anywhere. I'm planning to buy a triband without 850 support and just want to see if anyone has done the same.I don't really go outside of central NC too often, maybe once every few months or so and usually it's to a populous area that should have 1900 or 850/1900 coverage. I don't think it would be a problem but I know there are some smart cell phone folk on here and thought I'd check before I dropped the money on a phone that would be useless.

I did some work for Cingular wireless last year on their tower sites, and everything we tested was in the PCS band (1900). I would be willing to bet they have no active 850 in NC/SC.
