what would happen? ive got a 64 bit copy, but the laptop is 32 bit.

its currently running vista basic. need to upgrade.

I'm pretty sure it won't even get through the initial setup because it detects hardware to see if it's compatible. Even if you were able to get it installed somehow I don't think it would be a "usable" system.

well i changed the startup deal to boot from CD drive and it booted up and i got all the way to the screen that says "custom install, if you want to upgrade open from windows" so i rebooted to windows again and went to my computer and clicked then it gave me the error message.

hmmm.. i really want to upgrade from basic to ultimate.

i upgraded from basic to business...havent noticed any difference but i'm guessing its better

why dont you just use MSDNAA and download an XP Pro copy?

the laptop came with vista business.

i would like to put XP on there. but if i can upgrade to ultimate i will just leave it at that.

someone told me putting xp on a newer laptop might fuck with the drivers or some shit and actually cause shit to fuck up...or it voids your warrenty also...idk just what i heard

i just recently did msdnaa for vista business...got xp too but aint burned it to a disk yet

i dont know the exact specs. i know its 32 bit.
its an Acer.
(im at work, thats why i dont know)
