There used to be black and red ant colonies in my yard that would have massive wars on my driveway and yard when I was a kid. I would watch those for hours in the summer.

The black ants were larger, but the reds were more numerous.

Sometimes I started the wars by putting several of one kind on the other's hills.

^Same.... some times I would spit into a large group of fighters to simulate catapult stones, ala medieval warfare. Except the ants we had were both the same size and numbers, but just different color.
