You start searching for NPR on the radio because all the music sounds like crap.
Not that music has ever not sounded like crap on the radio, I just used to turn it off or throw in a CD instead.

I can't get into talk radio. It's CDs, iPod, or 88.1 for me.

It does make me feel really old when I catch myself saying "man, music was so much better 10 years ago.."

I remember when I didn't know who Diane Rehm was and they had just replaced dick gordon with her. I sent wunc and email telling them "they have got to be kidding with this awful fucking voice." They wrote back and told me she had a chronic disease and couldn't help it.

She should still be off the radio cause she is dumb.

[Original title]...you work out to NPR's Marketplace instead of regular music.

Or when you are riding down a rather steep hill on your bike at a fairly brisk pace and you actually consider slowing down due to the potential for injury if something went wrong.

^that can happen at any age, thats just being a wuss, ahaha

but for real you guys are morons for not listining to diane rehm, she is without a doubt the most intelligent person on NPR, for a little thing as her shaky voice to get in the way is silly
you guys just need to stick to G105 if thats the case

I agree Rehm is really bright but I have a hard time listening to her for more than a few minutes. My favorite NPR contributor has to be Daniel Schorr. I also like Juan Williams, especially when he goes onto Fox News and subtle pokes fun at the neo-cons the whole time.

But yeah, NPR is about all I listen to in the car. That or a CD. Commercial radio has never been worth a damn and all 88.1 plays anymore is whiny, off-key "indie" crap.

I have to say though, my musical tastes aren't really mellowing out as I get older. Broadening a little, but I listen to stuff now that I would have considered too harsh 10 years ago.

^^^ its not just the shaky voice.

It's the fact that it takes her 3 minutes to say once complete sentence. Plus I am afraid I will be listening and will be a party to the first on air death. Is she like 112?

....when you struggle to stay awake past 10 pm on a Friday night or you need to take a nap before you go out. Going out consists of leaving at 7 PM and returning at 10 instead of starting to get ready at 10 and heading out around midnight.

- When you get home from work you change into "house clothes"
- However, not wanting to dirty another pair of socks, you continue to wear your dress socks with a pair of shorts.

I remember always seeing my dad doing this and always thinking WTF about the funky socks.

so now I i find that i'm doing this....

And my work socks don't exactly end at ankle height.

You feel dirty checking out freshmen or even someone that's 19 or 20.

You start doing stuff because it's good for you, not because you enjoy it.
