I hope a thread wasn't already created.
But with the end of the 2007 season approaching, time to start discussing who might go where.

Anyone seen any good mock drafts yet?

i plan on doing a mock draft to add to this thread at some point. This is not my thread, but it would be cool/helpful to mockers for people to post their knowledge/hopes fot their favorite teams.

Dallas Cowboys
Picks
Round 1 ~# 22 (from Browns - Brady Quinn trade)
Round 1 ~# 31
Round 2 ~# 63

NEEDS
A. Cornerback
B. Wide Receiver
C. Tailback (assuming Julius Jones is gone)
D. Left Tackle (if Flozell Adams signs elsewhere)

Possible Available Choices in Round 1
Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas
Mike Jenkins, CB, USF
Antione Cason, CB, Arizona
Malcom Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
Adarius Bowman, WR, OSU
Limus Sweed, WR, Texas
Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas
Steve Slaton, RB, West Virginia

I would most like the Cowboys to pick up Kelly and Jones. Most mocks have kelly off the board by 22 though.

^ pretty good

I would be damn excited if tenessee gets manningham. VY needs a threat to throw to, and seems like every michigan hilite I can remember is manningham making a ridiculous grab.

^^ I would definitely like to see Kelly picked by Dallas over Doucet... also I think Atlanta has to take McFadden to be the face of their franchise and help people forget about Vick. I don't see any of the QBs in this draft as a franchise player

is that 3 ohio state players taken in the top 15, sweet

and I would love it if Gholston wound up with the Panthers

I dont know if McFadden will go to KC though, seems like they have a LOT of problems with their team, none of which is their RB. I figured they would go after an O-lineman

^ Oo-tah

^^ There isnt an O-lineman worthy of their pick left on the board and they have to find someone to replace Larry Johnson (i have a feeling he'll be traded). Not to mention McFadden is the best player available and Herm always goes for the best player available

^^^ Atlanta HAS to take Matt Ryan. They have Jerious Norwood who had a ton of potential himself. Arthur blank said on national TV that his team will be targeting a QB this draft, so why not the best one? As for Kelly over Doucet, I think Crayton is subpar at the kick and punt returns, something that doucet will be an upgrade over and where kelly doesnt match up on a pro level. It is a push at receiving ability

Norwood could be a great one

6 yards per carry both last year and this one, highest in the league

Peterson averaged 5.7 and he was the next highest

Time for Warrick Dunn to see a greatly reduced role

^hadn't heard Blank lobbying for qb

Kelly over Doucet is more of a personal preference, but you are right about Crayton returning punts. Cowboys led the league in fair catches with ~ 21. The size factor is huge in favor of kelly though.

Also Deshawn Jackson sounds like a Roscoe Parrish clone. The Bills might need a possesion receiver

Seems to be a weaker draft class for the skill positions, but really strong for O and D line.

Quote :

I hope so. A wr is needed badly. So with NE loosing their pick, does that mean 1 less player will be drafted this year? Sucks to be that guy.

^7th round picks don't really have a better shot at making a team than undrafted free agents, it just gives the team the rights to that player. Of course, only first round picks are guaranteed, so the only person potentially hurt by this is the player that fell out of the first round.

He's not the athlete that Peppers or Mario is, but definitely has a stronger 'motor'...he goes all out on every play, while the aforementioned have been known to coast from time to time

think Atlanta could trade down to 7 and pick up another pick and still get Ryan? I dont see anyone else 1-6 going QB and the Pats want McFadden

thats what I am saying, NE swaps with Atl, and gives them another pick. NE get McFadden, Atl still gets Ryan/Brohm AND another pick

^the only team that might throw a hanker into that plan would be KC.....but they could still get one of Ryan/Brohm(i don't think theres much diff.) so it sounds good to me. Would help both teams. But then what would NE do with Maroney, who is, i think, a really good RB.

I think KC has too much $$ invested in Croyle... and Maroney was alright this year but the Pats dont really have any holes anywhere so I could see them getting McFadden who is a lot more physical than Maroney and use Maroney more like they used him when they had Dillon

^good idea. I could see mcfadden bein the everydown back and maroney being that 3rd down, sometimes in the slot guy. I mean hell, they don't really have holes anywhere else, like you said

they do have holes. their starting LILB is 39, Rodney Harrison is old too. they'd be retarded not to draft Laurinaitis and shore that up for the next 10 years. They dont need another RB, they dont even need to run the ball. they should stick with faulk and maroney. Did you guys watch the giants game? NE has to go defense

one rumor out there is that they'd trade their #1 pick and #2 to the bears(so they can get brohm) for their #1 pick and lance briggs and then move vrabel back inside

ive explained why they could take mcfadden. It is likely they would listen to trade offers at that spot, but i wont project the trades that could happen. Mcfadden will go at #4 to whatever team picks there.

Now I dont follow the Giants, but are they losing a Rb this year? I thought they were getting decent production out of their backs this year. Again, I may have just caught the random snippets of them doing well, and not witnessed the downside.

Again, more just asking for information than saying this pick is wrong.

i could see St.L or Miami trading down so that someone can leap for McFadden. I think after what Peterson did this year people are going to want an opportunity to jump up and get a guy that could have a similar impact right away.

Also I don't think Chi will end up going QB first round but will try to get someone on the open market(Donovan or Anderson)

If I am a NFL team I still take Brohm over any QB available....

The Cowboys almost HAVE to take a corner...Terrance Newman is one of the best and the others constantly get picked on. Move Henry to Nickel back and make the new guy start. I love the Cason guy from Arizona.

i doubt the cowboys can sign him anyways with about $10M in real cap space for next season and in house free agents still to sign such as:

Chris Canty
Marion Barber
Flozell Adams
Julius Jones
Ken Hamlin

although I doubt Jones return and Adams may be allowed to walk as well
