I just realized when going to the bank today that my drivers license expired Dec 2. Because I will have waited more than a month (I cant go today), will I have to retake the written test? I am on hold with customer service for a long time, and I cant find anything that states what happens when a certain period has elapsed past your expiration on the DMV website.

If I moved to a new state, and don't want to give up my old licence, do I have to re-take the driving test?

You have to give up your old one. No, but you do have to take the written one.

man I went to renew mine the other day since I had to take someone else out to the DMV and I wanted to get one that didnt have *Under 21* on it even though it didnt expire until 2011, well the lady told me I had to do the road test and the sign test, I was like WTF? I thought you only needed to do the road test when you first got your license - that shit sucks

They have the option of making you take the road test at any renewal (they just never do it).

^^Also when I was out of state with the under 21 license some places gave me trouble and I clearly don't look under 21. Plus places like total wine take a photo of your id and make you sign an affidavit that your over 21 if iyour license says under 21 on it (every time you go get a keg/I had to put up with it for years).

I'm still walking around with my under 21 license. I thought about getting the one without it, but then it made me feel old. =(

^^ I figured they would hire some more employees with some of that increase, but 75% of the dmv workstations were empty and it took forever.
