fyi, you are technically not an EI, which has replaced EIT, until you have graduated from college. The Board has to be notified about your graduation before you are mailed your certificate.

has anyone ever known of someone who actually puts EI/EIT after their name? ]

wow good going guys. I got real sick the day of the test and had to go to hospital. Then the second time I failed. I took General morning and Civil Afternoon. I did good on the first part, 2nd part NO SIR!!!I plan on taking it again this april and definately passing. Im going to study my ass off and I just bought a HP33s.So which test did you guys take and what calculator did you guys use.

Since I'm EE, I took the general in the morning and electrical in the afternoon. I thought the morning section was a bitch of a test. Way too much mechanical statics, dynamics and thermo. But luckily the afternoon session was a breeze, there was maybe 10 questions that gave me any trouble. Of couse I did finish with a 3.89 major gpa in electrical. For mechanical I've heard from the guys at work that you want to take the afternoon general test instead of the mechanical. The mechanical questions are easier and there is only a few cross-discipline questions anyways. As for calculators I used both the HP-33s and casio fx-115ms. The casio is only $15 and actually has some nice quadratic and simultaneous equation solvers that save a ton of time on the test.Good luck!

If you graduate with a degree in Mechanical, I dont care if you had a 2.0, you should be able to pass the test without studying, its basically a review of all your classes but easier
