i fall under 3 as well. i "have" to abide to the one drink limit, although ive recently stretched it to doubles. so i never get drunk. and i think its stupid to drink [and drive], and i try to make people stay here or call them a cab if they have been drinking.

but im not gonna preach to them. they already know how dumb it is, they dont need to hear stupid stories. especially not in the hope that they're gonna change the way someone acts. ohhhh i better call a cab, that wolfweb girl had that dead kid in class

People that get DWI's are not usually bad people. I mean if you pay enough attention you will notice that people of all walks of life get them. Congressmen, city council, legislators, middle aged moms, PRESIDENTS even fucking COPS get them.

It is a mistake no one is immune to. Of course there are also the people that have gotten a half dozen and still drive drunk until they kill someone.

Its obviously a huge problem when they have to make special courts to handle the huge caseload of DWI's. I don't know what the solution is but the current system never has and never will work.

not sure what you're talking about, im definitely very against driving drunk. also, i was against it before "rehab" (which was 18 months ago -- so once again i'm not sure what you mean when you talk about the one i always seem to stay in. also not sure where you're coming from with the 12-step program your mind has placed me in. i'm not a 12-stepper myself, although i think it is good for some people). i also know that a double doesn't make me legally intoxicated, which is one of the multiple reasons i have the one drink limit.

of course driving drunk is a characteristic of an idiot. i can't remember ever saying anything otherwise. as a matter of fact, i think it was this thread where i talked about making people stay over or catch a cab if they were drunk and trying to drive away from here. i'm not sure where i hurt your feelings, i think i said that lots of the time the people doing the lecturing are either hypocrites or older AKA more mature.

i'm also very curious, if you get time, as to why you would e-flip out on me, when super cool jackleg has never ever ever ever put drunk driving in any sort of cool or positive light, even before i changed my own habits. also, the 12 step book putdown was pretty weak. even if i thought that 12 step fit into my life, i certainly wouldn't be ashamed of trying to better my life that way.
