So this lady is having a "wedding reception." I.E.: She states that the family dinner at an upscale restaurant is less a reception and more of a laid-back get-together. She asks for a photo shoot within a certain range (in dollars). I offer a wedding photography service which is within her price bracket ($200 for up to 5 hours, including a photo CD, photo release, and online hosting). She retorts:

don't worry I'm notat least not anytime soon
12/24/2007 4:01:59 PM
damn $200 is cheapwhat the fuck is her problem?
12/24/2007 4:02:05 PM
She will let her guests with p&s cameras be her photographers picture-takers.

so I only read your blog comment. I feel like we are friends and I want to smack this woman just because she was a bitch to you. Obviously she must have no idea how photography works. I would have killed to have 5 hours of photography plus all that you offer for $200 for a wedding type services. There is no way in hell that she is going to find services that cheap again so I guess she is just sol. I do wish it were different so that you can have $200.

run awayshe basically lies to you, then complains about the price (which is stupid low)run away
12/24/2007 5:16:39 PM
^^Yeah, it would be nice. However, she's outweighed by this awesome chick I'm working with this Friday, she's throwing an engagement party and had no qualms about paying money for a service, lol.^I just emailed the "bride"-to-be something along the lines of, Happy hunting, Stephanie. I wanted to say a lot but I decided to just take it here instead. [Edited on December 24, 2007 at 5:18 PM. Reason : .]

If she starts looking around at other professional photographers, she's going to wish that she hadn't been so rude to you because all she's going to get are guests with disposable cameras taking crap shots.

Pay less than $200 for a wedding-related photo shoot and you're wasting your time.

I paid $500 for my wedding photographer and only managed to get it that cheaply because he and my mother were in a 12 year long relationship (basically all of my childhood). That lady must want a pro-rated fee because it's not going to take the full "up to 5 hours."
12/24/2007 5:26:47 PM
$200 is cheap, even for subpar photographs.
12/24/2007 6:31:58 PM
Oh yeah. I hate my own prices but it's all part of my apprenticeship. Once I'm done I'll double and hold those rates for a year.
12/24/2007 6:41:27 PM
man, what a bitch
12/24/2007 6:54:51 PM
Tell her I will do it for $50, but all she gets is digital pictures, and there are no guarantees about quality.

marriage lasted less than 2 years, do you get a refund for the gifts that you gave them? I think he cheated.
12/24/2007 11:30:02 PM
tell her to eat a dick
12/24/2007 11:54:05 PM
do twwers get any discount?
12/25/2007 12:01:12 AM

^^I'm raising my rates as of Jan. 1, 2007, so I might be making enough money where I can give discounts. But I doubt it.
12/25/2007 10:25:39 AM
u mean 2008?
12/25/2007 11:08:23 AM
Yeah, whoops!

I hope you use contracts. These are the kind of people that will try to fuck you over after you've already done the work.
12/25/2007 6:29:42 PM
200/5= 40 bucks per hour.... pretty cheapplus the extra work that goes into the cd, online stuff, etc...what a B
12/25/2007 6:46:25 PM
^^I don't fart without a contract.
12/25/2007 10:02:17 PM
no shit... i've walked out of meetings & told the people to just buy some inkjet business cards at big lots, that's the only thing in their price bracket. $200 is a BARGAIN.
12/25/2007 10:12:41 PM
making love... out of nothing at all
