^ Two brigades is hardly a large force, so I'm not sure that really says that much.That being said, I'm going to have to watch this movie. I think it Eisenhower's comments posess a tremendous amount of weight due to the fact that it is not a crack-pot leftist, but a moderate Republican who just happens to be a retired General of the Army* (one of only 9 in US history) and Supreme Commander, Allied Forces Europe.* On an interesting side note: Eisenhower formally resigned his commission to run for President, his successor, John F. Kennedy, signed Pub.L. 87-3 on March 23, 1961 which returned Eisenhower to Active Duty of Regular Army in grade of General of the Army dated back to December 1944
