How do you do that? Can you do it when you walk in or do you have to pre-register.

will be interesting to see what Dem wins the primary in NC(they dont have a chance in the general, Bin Laden would win NC as a Republican).

ah, this is very good news, I thought I was going to have to register republican to vote for Paul when I am far from a republican..is this the same in most/all states? I might vote in florida, i dunno how all this works.[Edited on December 20, 2007 at 4:06 PM. Reason : fhds]

fuck, FL is closed.does NC have mail-in primary ballots?I'd really rather not go through switching parties.[Edited on December 20, 2007 at 8:41 PM. Reason : hfds]

You just have to register Republican by December 31. There's still time if you want to vote in that primary...Also, you'd have to change for NC anyways - looking it up, it's looking like the Republican primary is closed. (State parties set their own rules). So, either way - you gotta change parties. (You can always just change back right after the election).I don't know if they do absentee ballots for primary elections - probably not.[Edited on December 20, 2007 at 8:43 PM. so... I am (was?) registered Libertarianthere aren't any Libertarians on the ballot this year, though, right?can I vote in another primary or am I shit out of luck because a party that I chose got disenfranchised?
1/3/2008 5:26:18 PM
^ If you registered Libertarian you've been automatically switched to unaffiliated when the Libertarians got kicked off the ballot.

^^ Go to your county's election office where you're registered to vote (google search the address) and change your party affiliation to the party whose primary you want to vote for. You have to show up in person. For the Republicans, you have to be registered Republican. I am going to temporarily make myself Republican from Independent in a month or so so I can vote in the Republican primary in May.[Edited on January 3, 2008 at 6:28 PM. Reason : .]
