Hitachi 51" Rear Projection HDTV, with "Ultravision", widescreen. 1080i, Model 51S500. No signs of burn-in. Fantastic shape, although the cabinet has a few dings at the bottom from the one time I moved it (would be easy to hide). Still a good TV, Im only replacing it because I wanted something a little smaller. If you have the room, this is a good way to get a big screen for a good price.

Were getting there, but Id like to get this a little higher . I realize this is "old" technology and all of that, but its still a 51" screen, which are pretty pricey regardless.

Thats a good TV.There are people who think these are still the best overall HD quality there is when properly calibrated.

I have a 65" Mitsu, and have no desire to pay 4000+ for a comparible LCD/Plasma. For those of you who want nice HD, and dont have to buy the trendy flat panels, this is a super deal for the money.^ You can probably find the calibration guide online. depending on the model, they range from routine, to very complicated and difficult. I normally pull out my bonoculars to calibrate my set.[Edited on December 21, 2007 at 2:54 PM. Reason : .]

I found a website that referenced a designer menu, but that toshiba removed it from certain models (I assume ours) I could only get to the first/second step of the walkthrough which was accessing the service menu. Couldn't get past that. His dad said there was a loud pop and the tv turned off and instantly came back on. I guess the guns are now misaligned? There was some bad discoloration but I seemed to all but get rid of that with a manual convergence calibration. I have a Digitial Video Essentials DVD and even have AVIA somewhere, so the patterns aren't the issue, I just can't find the damn menu to adjust them.

If this is still available after the new year I'm moving in to a new place on the 4th and can give you a good deal on it.

Ok, so I kind of got sidetracked on this with Christmas and whatnot and just havent got around to bumping this since then. I have an offer for $350, but I think its worth at least $400. It looks fantastic as stated by others, probably better than most LCDs/Plasmas/DLPs. Its just a bit bigger. No burn-in issues, no realignments needed. Honestly, there is a part of me that will be sad to see you roll it out if you chose to buy it.

About 250 pounds...yeah I know. Its on wheels though, so you at least get a break when youre moving it across even surfaces.
