Anyone else watch this show? I think it's really interesting. Does anyone take and martial arts / self defense class in the area? I was just curious what's available when I move back someday.I am currently taking Krav Maga and some BJJ in Ohio. I am also trying some Martial Blade Combat, which is defense against knife attacks, or most weapons. It's a lot of fun and keeps me fit and may be helpful someday.

^ Ya I don't plan on fighting in any tournaments or UFC to make money in the near future....I just take it to keep fit, to condition my body and to have the ability to protect my family and myself if need be.Ya the second season is a little disappointing. However it's still cool to see the many various styles and their differences and strengths. However it's very limited at best of the things they show.[Edited on December 19, 2007 at 9:21 AM. I DVR'd it and watched the first three or four episodes of season 1 and the first episode of season 2, but it got pretty stale so I just delete it now.[Edited on December 19, 2007 at 9:25 AM. Reason : s]

^^ Surprisngly it's really good for anyone of any size, strength or age. It's really effective for women as it teaches women how to make good contact with attacks and not to let up. I think the biggest thing so far I like is the realism. You train boths sides of an attack, as a victim and an attacker, so that you understand different perspectives, as well as what it feels to be attacked, choked, wrestled, kicked, etc as both the aggressor and the victim (which in Krav, you are not the vicitim, you are now the opponent). You also train against all sizes of people, big, small, even men vs women.I'd highly recommend taking something like it for anyone. It's good simple exercise and a great way to relive stress. You may be a bit black and blue in the beginning and a little sore, but any type of workout will do that to you. The fun thing is you are interacting with people, learning something, and keeping in shape all at the same time.
