Easy...do it

grades are all subjective, theres not right or wrong, you can make shit up as you go along, drugs and alcohol are beneficial for your work, few tests if any

My ENG101 professor was real nice, but she was a total feminist. It was kind of scary.

There are some phenomenal English professors at NCSU. The teachers that teach 101 and other low level courses are primarily graduate students and not representative of the quality you encounter throughout the department.

I loved the English program at State, but I was at NCSU long enough to know which professors and which classes to take to get the most out of the program, which is key. It's not "easy" unless you love to read and write papers. I actually took far more classes than I needed for my degree because I just loved some professors and topics. I was absolutely happier as an English major than I was as a Biology major.

Finding a job after graduation is not always easy. They don't really push internships etc like other departments. Make sure that you do an internship or have some sort of skill to go along with your English degree. I went for English Ed. so I'm certified to teach HS.

you missed step 2 in which generally the requirement to get to step 3 is not put in the necessary effort while in school to secure as good of a chance as possible of getting a decent job when you're out of school. and by effort i dont mean doing well in class, i mean getting internships and experience in multiple industries. Thats the mistake most people in a degree like English make.

I have a B.A. in English with a concentration in journalism. I graduated in Dec. '04 and had a full-time job as a reporter in Johnston County by mid-January. I decided to try teaching after two years as a reporter, and had a job about a week after deciding to switch careers. I feel like the curriculum at State was more than adequate for finding work after I graduated.
