i noticed that like 7 or 8 online orders from companies not in NC charged me sales tax. whats going on here? They used to only charge sales tax if they were or had a location in NC... right? or am i crazy?

which companies? because my understanding is no, they're not supposed to charge sales tax unless they have locations in the state (but i think that can apply to warehouses, retail locations, and offices)

yea if they have any kind of presence in the state, they will charge tax.

Doesn't matter either way since you report it all at the end of the year anyway, right?
