A crash course section on the front page or linked to a separate section

with links to threads that repeatedly get made

I.E. "The Speeding Ticket Thread"

etc

and you can have the mods pick em or whatever

whatever they're tired of locking up due to duplicate major threads already created on the subject.

also makes them easier to find and organize

its not a fix all

but as a member of another msg board that operates somewhat similar to tww as far as membership is concerned

it helps a lot

wastes less of your time

maybe the search will be one of the things nael fixes

right now it seems like stopping the popups is too much for him though

whats wrong with the search? it searches titles just fine, always has.

i've been here for well over 5 years, and i can't remember post search ever working if thats what you're referring to. i would assume thats a hardware issue...performance and what not.

do you know how long people have been begging for sticky threads on this site?

it has about as much chance of happening as any event with very small odds

I'm pretty sure post search hasn't been gone for that long.

But yes, site performance was indeed the reason given for why it was removed.

it has.

back in the day it used to be awesome, but the site just got too big, and would give you "oh shit" errors after a few minutes.

i like the idea of stickies in theory but they're ugly

but i more like the idea of the top X ased questions

where X = # of threads that will fit on a page

and having a section for that

that would be kinda nice, especially considering the "search" feature isn't all that great sometimes

the problem with the search is you can only put one main keyword to find what you want

if you put "cook today" its hard as fuck to find the "what did you cook today thread"...if you put the word cook, it only comes up with one page of results and its easy to find it

using google to search for tww threads is easier than using tww's search
