i've always been a hot water and mr. clean kinda guy, but i know a lot of people who say using the swiffer is so much easier. the jew in me can't stand the thought of paying for those overpriced pads when a 3-pack of mop sponges will get you a years worth of cleaning for $7so does swiffer get a yea or nay?

i would say nay just b/c it's so gd wasteful.

They're great when you just want to ghetto clean and not get out the bucket...(ie every day)

I like the swiffer for dry jobs: quick sweep of a dusty floor, regular maintenance cleaning, and the cloths make good dust rags. I have used the wet pads for mopping, but I still have the first box I bought a year later. It's not really great for scrubbing the floor, but it's ok for a quick maintenance mop.

i have one, they are a waste buy a broom or a vacuum - the swiffer is no different than wrapping a paper towel around a broom

meh, i obtained one through a family member and it does a satisfactory job cleaning up my kitchen after I sweep it first... but like simonn said those huge pads are such a waste. When I run out of pads I'm going back to the old-fashioned mop/bucket[Edited on December 10, 2007 at 9:59 PM. Reason : meh]

I think the swiffer dusters save lots of time dusting.Swiffers for the floor are too $$$, and I think Mr.Clean and water works better.

swiffers for the floor just push the dirt around. you have to sweep REALLY well first. mostly all it does is make the floor look damp and smell like oranges.

i just use a broom/dustpan, and one of those sponge mop thingies
12/11/2007 12:13:25 AM

the pads cost too much and dont last long
12/11/2007 2:09:36 AM
i think it works well for dust moping only. for moping, you really need a regular mop and a bucket.

I just used one for the first time to mop the other day. Sub par. It mostly pushes shit around the floor, rather than being able to remove shit from the floor by wringing it into a bucket.

good for dog hair
