so it looks like you're only eligible if you made a foreign purchase...is that right?
12/10/2007 2:11:59 PM
reading comprehension please

You do not have to have made a foreign purchase:
12/10/2007 2:14:29 PM
<--didn't read it all, that's why i axed
12/10/2007 2:33:56 PM
so I have to wait for my credit card statement to get the refund ID?
12/10/2007 2:36:05 PM
You may never get a refund ID. Think about the number of people who have a Visas and MasterCards. Then think about how many people (er, teenagers) get a Visa or Mastercard for the first time each year. It is impossible to get notices to every single one of those people. You don't need a refund ID to make your claim.]
12/10/2007 2:37:38 PM
I got something about this in the mail.

I'm so scared of identity theft. I'm affected under option one. I'm assuming I can use an old card/account number which is what was used at the time. No one can trace that to a current number can they? This is also asking for the last 4 of the social.
12/10/2007 3:28:48 PM
so what's the deal with this stuff?
12/17/2007 12:09:58 AM
^^Supposedly, no. BOA is less than careful about it (e.g., identity theft victims closing accounts...and BOA linking the new, "safe" accounts to them, and then the new ones get drained). You should be fine. Will this open you to identify theft? It better not. It's less risky than, say, shopping at TJ Maxx.^What exactly is your question?[Edited on December 17, 2007 at 12:15 AM. Reason : flkj]

1. is there any real downside to cashing in on this $25?2. in summary, what are the grounds for these reparations?
12/17/2007 12:22:29 AM
1) no2) CC companies lied about the true exchange rate for foreign transactions
12/17/2007 2:20:04 AM
So I added up all my foreign transactions from the time period covered and calculated what I was owed ... and it was pretty much the same as the $25 boilerplate settlement. Bleh. -- Dave

Reading FTWSee where I have bolded text in a post above? You do not have to have made a foreign purchase.
12/17/2007 11:08:28 AM
still a little skeptical about this
12/17/2007 1:52:53 PM
i just sent my info in yesterday.
12/17/2007 1:54:00 PM
I got the notice in the mail. I am thinking of going with the fill in your amount option. I am thinking I should get 300 back (or 1 percent)... not sure if I should try that route though.
12/17/2007 2:10:09 PM
if you spent more than a week out of the US and over $2500 then you can do the other optionsif it was less than one week and less than $2500.you are only getting $25
12/17/2007 2:58:38 PM
12/17/2007 3:03:28 PM
I got my thing in the mail, went online and filled out.I wonder how long it will take to get the $25.... I'm guessing I won't see it till next july

12/21/2007 1:39:00 PM
Forgive me if im reading this wrong but:
12/21/2007 1:46:01 PM
Read the sentence that follows what you bolded Especially the first part.
12/21/2007 2:33:22 PM
so you had to have made a foreign purchase?
12/21/2007 2:46:52 PM
12/21/2007 4:34:14 PM
filled mine out. it didn't ask for an amount, but a time overseas. i assume they will calculate how much I get. will check the status online...
12/26/2007 8:51:30 PM
The link posted says that you must have made a foreign purchase in order to qualify. I'm afraid to give my important info to something like this, but I don't want to miss out on $50 either. Did anyone else find any other red flags?
12/27/2007 9:42:05 PM
i just got a settlement check for $2.36 the other day from some blood-sucking company ]
