They remind me a little of a band I saw at Marrz in Wilmington one night. They were a metal band that looked like a bunch of 15-16 year old surfer kids with long sun bleached hair and rainbow sandals and shit. They did a great cover of Opeth's "Demon of the Fall" that really earned my respect though. They were much better musicians than I was at their age for sure.

rofl. im not saying that i think my band is great or anything, because i enjoy playing in this band to make music not to have some big ego (and not to 'score pussy'). but the main reason we arent 'going anywhere' is because our drummer is still in High School (and could kick that drummer's ass when he was that age on drums) and I have a full time job out of state that I knew would be better for me in the long run aka we're doing this for fun, not trying to. we've had numerous opportunities to tour the country as well as outside of the country if it means anything to you.

the real test of time for a band like this, is 10 years down the road, are they writing any real creative music or are they playing metal by numbers. as a huge metal fanatic im sick and tired of all of the 'metal by numbers' bands out there today doing nothing but piggybacking on all of the other bands already around. Im so cynical of any new metal band I run across because of this, however I gave them the benefit of the doubt on the props considering their age. But I know tons of people who shred harder and faster than I do who cant write a decent song to save their life. And thats what these kids will need to develop in order to catch my ear as a musician when they mature down the road.

Now, theres plenty of roads they could go down for easy album sales with limited creativity...and if thats the case, regardless of how many albums they ever sell, theyll lose my respect as adults. I guess it comes down to, are they trying to make good music, or good money?

I was gonna say not possible, but it appears that Heart released Barracuda in 1977, and Flight of Icarus came out in 1983

They didn't steal it, they just played the Iron Maiden song at a faster tempo. I just listened to both opening riffs. Maiden's has an extra down beat in there.

They're pretty good for their age. Too bad they will never make it. Nowadays they have a whole system in place to ensure that people who actually half-way know how to play an instrument never make it.

They'd have a better chance if they dropped the solo out of the song entirely and just did feedback sound effects on an 8 string guitar.
