I dunno just yet. I got the 55mW version, so I'm guessing about 2 miles or so. Tonight I'm gonna try and shine it from my condo on some of the buildings in downtown Atlanta. It could also be fun shining it down on some people on the street (I live on the 22nd floor)

A lot of it (most) is for the cool factor... but I give a lot of presentations, and decided to go for the green as opposed to the conventional red lasers.

If I were to get a special "lens" to put on it and focus the beam, this one could pop a balloon or light a match. I don't care to modify it in any way, and if I wanted one that burned something, I'd just buy a higher power one.

yea so it turns out that if i shine it on my skin it starts to heat it up

it lases quite well, and the beam is very visible when shining it outside
