put socks on and walk around normally.
this guarantees that you'll find the wet spot in 10 steps or less

I'm telling you. Wearing socks is the key.

think about it this way:

sure it's bad that the cat peed. sure it's bad that it's early in the morning.
this morning is already going bad. bad things always get worse.

so what's worse than cat pee? socks that you're wearing soaked in cat pee

you use the coat hanger and stick to find the pee. like the guys use them to find places to drill for ground water

^^ And it's going to forever. My roommate's PSYCHO cat has pissed all in this one corner. And it smells soo bad, he's STILL scratching at it thinking it's the litter box and the carpet is ripped up completely from the baseboard. RIDICULOUS! ANd it will never come out. The ammonia smell will be in the carpet forever. It's the worst. We've gone through citrus cleaners, Febreeze sprays, go through about 5 or more candles every 2 weeks, carpet cleaners, that stuff from PetSmart, EVERYTHING. NOTHING works.

I had a problem with one cat peeing downstairs, but we came to terms and I got most the smell out I think -- it took alot of cleaning tho. I'm just not sure were he peed... he's been hiding in the closet/litter room, but I use it as storage and its under a stair so its really hard to get in the back to see-- but thats where I think the deed was done...

My folks had a cat once that broke his leg. He was strictly an outdoor cat (though sans balls), but he had to stay inside for something like 4 weeks. Well, he pissed in all the floor vents...evidently because they were nice and warm.

House smelled lovely for MONTHS.

sadness.... he's pooping in the litter box but not peeing. He peed on a rug sometime last night, so I moved it into the cat litter room and put a cat pan on top of it... hopefully he'll get the idea :/

Or, If you do have a cat, make sure he only stays at the horse barn eating field mice and birds and such.
