If I had to guess, I'd say he bumped his scope on something or spent no time making sure it was sighted in... notice how all three shots hit the ground just to the left of the deer, all fairly close to one another.[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:15 PM. Reason : sighted, not zoomed]
12/6/2007 2:13:26 PM
haha the grunt was the guy in the stand but jesus, I've never had a deer stand there that long and let me missthat guys scope was probably loose and not sighted in anymore... thats all I can think... that deer wasn't even 60 yards from him(this is why you buy a good scope and quality mounts)[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:14 PM. Reason : .not some wal mart shit]

12/6/2007 2:24:12 PM
could've been shifting slightly every time he fired.
12/6/2007 2:26:22 PM
Well then in that case.
12/6/2007 2:28:06 PM
am i the only person who hunts with a bow...and doesn't suck?the only thing more pathetic than hunting with a gun is hunting with guns AND dogs
12/6/2007 2:31:08 PM
oh god, you're one of those bowhunting is the only "hunting" type of faggots aren't youI don't enjoy shooting animals, having them suffer, and then having to go track them downps, it's much easier to shoot a deer with a bow at 30 yards than a deer at 300 with a rifle
12/6/2007 2:33:18 PM
i wanna shoot something
12/6/2007 2:34:54 PM
^^ of course not...i'm a damn fine shot with a rifle (though i don't use a scope, because at some point i think there should be, i don't know, a challenge to it)...i competed in both archery (target) and riflery in high school and made it to regional competitions before losingjust because YOU can't kill a deer through bowhunting doesn't mean the rest of us can't[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:35 PM. Reason : i'm not as good with a shotgun, though]
12/6/2007 2:35:23 PM
^^^^i don't know where i fit into that pattern. i do all three.[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:35 PM. Reason : .]
12/6/2007 2:35:42 PM
The hunters exasperation at the end is the icing on that videos cake.
12/6/2007 2:36:04 PM
^^ meh, my dog (a mutt, no less) fetches ducks, but i can't stand hunters who use dogs to round up deer...at what point are they planning to work for it?
12/6/2007 2:37:08 PM
^^^^ I've done bothI just don't like itI don't like tracking deerand I like the speed that a ballistic tip bullet dispatches an animal^ I don't dog hunt, I have... only beef I have with dog hunters is when they cross my property when I'm hunting[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:38 PM. Reason : .]
12/6/2007 2:38:04 PM
oh, let me add spotlighting to pathetic hunting practices
12/6/2007 2:39:09 PM
jones senior is always going to the state in the high school hunters program, and national competition a few times after i graduated.i competed in the .22 and testing part.
12/6/2007 2:39:52 PM
lol, spotlighting is illegal can't really call that "hunting"
12/6/2007 2:40:42 PM
bows, rifles....stfunothing compares to stealth and a knife
12/6/2007 2:41:21 PM
12/6/2007 2:41:42 PM
pffft....I sneak up behind and break its neck with my bare hands. Or should I say bear hands.Pussies.
12/6/2007 2:42:31 PM
^^^ & ^haha
12/6/2007 2:42:58 PM
spot lighting ain't illegal (until after 11). firelighting is illegal.i wouldn't bash dog hunting too much, the deer definitely, almost always have a way out. unlike still setting, where the deer are fed all summer long at the same spot and then shot while trying to eat one afternoon.[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:43 PM. 12/6/2007 2:43:14 PM
this video is awesome.
12/6/2007 2:43:30 PM
^^^haha that sounds like some bertie county shit people are always beefin over hunting dogs^^ shining a light isn't illegal, as long as you have no weapons[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:44 PM. Reason : .]
12/6/2007 2:43:57 PM
^^^my father in law does thatthing is, he never shoots them where they're fed. by that I mean, he's only ever shot them at the stands away from feeding areas, which I find funny. he mostly feeds them just so he can put out his camera.[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:47 PM. Reason : ]

12/6/2007 2:46:37 PM
let me get this straight, a hunting dog crippled one of your animals? what kind of animal was it?
12/6/2007 2:47:11 PM
could've been anything...gets a horse or something to turn the wrong way
12/6/2007 2:48:33 PM
^^ ostrich they spook easily, and the dogs would slip into the pens and run them back and forth...we had one bird injure a dog, but one of the other birds (in a different pen) was spooked so badly it tried to climb the fence and broke its leg (i watched this happen)...granted, ostriches are DAMNABLY easy to spook[Edited on December 6, 2007 at 2:49 PM. 12/6/2007 2:48:50 PM
ummmI have over an acre food plotI put out cornI do whatever I have to dowhatever, I like eating deer
12/6/2007 2:50:41 PM
thats a tough situation, one side tells me that i would have shot the dog too, another says i would have rounded the dog up, and went after the owners wallet. well, to the best of my knowledge, our dogs have never crippled an ostrich, or a horse, cause we hunt next to horse pastures all the time.
12/6/2007 2:52:10 PM
12/6/2007 2:52:32 PM
i had some venison stew for lunch today...good stuff
12/6/2007 2:52:35 PM
^^well, I don't put my stand next to the food plot or the corn pilethe last deer I shot was 190 yards away at my food plot^I'm about to put some jerky in the dehydrator
12/6/2007 2:55:02 PM
oh, i have no problem shooting a deer over food plots either. i was just saying, i can't see much of a difference in skill level between still setting and dog hunting. i do both and enjoy both. but, i will definitely see more deer running dogs, so go figure.i will say, bow hunting takes the most patience and skill over the other two though, no doubt.
12/6/2007 2:55:39 PM
^^you make your jerky spicy or not?
12/6/2007 2:57:49 PM
asian man!teriyaki!
12/6/2007 3:03:31 PM
i think after the second shot I'd just look down the sights and forget the scope. However, this is definitely something my grandfather would do, and he'd be cussin' the whole time.
12/6/2007 4:47:15 PM
I saw some argument over spot lighting... the law says that in SOME counties, you can shine a light on deer up to 11pm. This does not mean that you can shoot them under this light - you can only LOOK at them under the light. If you have a gun/rifle in your truck, you're illegal. After 11pm, you can't shine a light at all. (In case it wasn't clear enough )
12/6/2007 10:08:44 PM
how could you keep shooting?hunting for "sport" is one thing, but shooting at a deer standing right there looking at you... that's another.
12/6/2007 10:15:30 PM
Why does it matter if it is looking at you or not? I don't see the issue.
