I need help identifying a particular muscle that I see on both men and women, but on women it is especially attractive to me.The muscle is one that runs up and down (for lack of a better descriptor) on the outside of waht would be the abs. It might be a slight slant mostly. Some women have some boney hips that sometimes LOOK like this muscle but this is definitely a muscle. Any pictures would be helpful. Thanks!

Now we're getting somewhere.. I'm thinking lower and more central than the obliques would be.

muscular anatomy searches would prolly prove more usefuli think it's the Iliopsoas:http://www.fitstep.com/Advanced/Anatomy/Hip_flexors.htm
12/6/2007 2:48:33 PM
^iliopsoas runs from your lumbar vertebrae to your lesser trochanter of your femur...so i doubt thats it

^ i think he means that line running from her side into the middle of her tattootransverse abdominis is my guess
12/6/2007 3:57:57 PM
Yes sir... that would be the one. Although the example above is slightly extreme and not as sexy as a more subtle example... but you have nonetheless identified the muscle... any tips on how to isolate that muscle?
12/6/2007 4:27:13 PM
googleage
12/6/2007 4:29:27 PM
I believe that is called the inguinal crease.
12/6/2007 4:31:04 PM
looks like it goes with the obliquesid say lots of side bridges, side crunches and broomstick twist
12/6/2007 4:34:30 PM
The muscle is the external oblique. The transverse abdominis lies more deep.
12/6/2007 4:36:41 PM
^^actually that particular feature (for males and females) is largely genetic
12/6/2007 5:11:22 PM
