i was very surprised that they showed that. that's uncharted territory for major motion pictures as far as i know.

Huh, I never really thought about the fact that like any medical procedure, they are gonna have to shave the area where there is risk for potential infection.

I wonder who shaves the pussy?

My (pregnant) friend told me they ask you *not* to shave during your pregnancy, to prevent infection.

I guess they do it right before hand...

I heard there was a really graphic scene, but I saw it on an airplane and they cut that part out

when the movie was over I was like "what's the big deal"

I thought this thread was about the scene when Jonas admits he's a fag

not sure which I'd rather see, that or a bloody bulging pussy

I saw it in theaters and saw the scene...

I really wasn't phased or surprised by it. I mean God, it's not shown in a perverted way and you were supposed to have seen this in healthful living anyway.

I would take an 8 year old to that movie.

i just didn't expect it at all, b/c you always see people making a huge deal about how gross it is, but you never see an actual shot of a baby coming out of a vagina.

but these guys, they gave you one.

^^ nevermind the 16-way split-screen sex scene.

Well, they've gotta lean the birds and bees of childbirth and mass orgies sooner or later.

meh, just childbirth. Don't see the big deal about having it in the movie. The movie is about a girl getting pregnant, so if you went into the movie expecting to not see the child born...

I watched it in high school and didn't think it was any big deal. It isn't, really, compared to half the stuff on the internet.

I watched that youtube video, and that makes me scared to have a natural birth...it makes me cringe...maybe I'll luck out with c-sections?

agreed. I had health occupations 1&2 in high school, had seen it all in those classes. A birth scene is not that big of a deal.

The scene in the movie was pretty tame compared to some of the video births that I have seen on line and in my birthing classes. Some of them are pretty messy -- blood and other stuffs.

Shaving is no longer considered to be routine. You can pretty much request that they shave it all off or only shave the area if they have to cut and/or stitch it up.

I didn't watch it in HS bio, but I did watch the same video, "The Miracle of Life," in Dr. Neupert's Developmental Psych last semester.

I can't believe you guys are bitching about girls not being shaved while pregnant.

It's a little hard to see down there when your stomach is the size of a small planet.

Was really just in reply to the one post about the high school film and the chick being hairy.

But ^x7 is right, there isn't any shaving unless they have to stitch.

Let's have a "That doesn't bother me because I'm mature" contest

first one to admit a mucus covered human skull passing through your fuck-fixture is anything more than "like, totally natural" gets to sit with the rest of the fucking internet brava

I think I read that fathers who see their wives give birth end up psychologically scarred somehow.

I can't find it now though.

My husband says that he thinks that part of it is that his sexual urges put his woman through all of that. And as wonderful as the miracle of life is -- it isn't pretty and kinda scary.

I think it's that a guy has to watch something that he's always seen as sexual suddenly become functional in a bad bad way.

In our labor class all of the guys just sat there kinda stunned after the birth video. It was like reality just slapped them in the face.

I was far more disturbed by Bart's penis in the Simpsons movies. I was waiting for Troy McClure to come out and tell me to have a seat.
