is installing netscape, paying the bill, and then uninstalling it an option?how the hell did you pay this bill before, or did you just start having to pay it? could you just pay it tomorrow on campus or something?

wow.... it won't work on FireFox on Windows either. That site is way out of date. You can try to run the User Agent Switcher firefox extention to fool the website into thinking you are using IE or Netscape and see if it will work anyway (btw, terrible thread title...)------------ok yeah - i just tried User Agent Switcher on Windows Firefox and set the user agent to IE 7, and it takes me to the signon page then. ^^i paid on a windows machine with IE before. Shit this is the last payment I have to make too then won't ever have to worry about it again. I really don't feel like getting an ancient sony vaio out of the closest just to pay this stupid bill.better thread title suggestions?^thanks, user agent ext. worked.[Edited on December 2, 2007 at 11:42 AM. yeah, even "bypassing browser minimum requirements" would be betteror "online bill pay with unsupported browser problem"not a big deal, because i think your problem is solved now, but I thought this thread was going to be about minimum computer requirements for upgrading or something, or bypassing requirements for a job maybe

Opera has a user agent switcher built inor use the plugin for firefox

WTF? my mortgage is with wellsfargo and it works fine, but when i clicked on your link it said I don't have the correct browser. What I want to know is how did these morons over look firefox as a supported browser? Its like saying "sorry you are on Windows, please install linux to view this page"
12/2/2007 12:18:09 PM
^ yeah, me too. I can log into my Wells Fargo mortgage account with any browser I've tried. But it looks like other types of accounts, presumably run on different backends, require other technology. And the question of "why isn't firefox supported" should be superseeded with "why are there any browser requirements". Any modern webapp used by a major bank like Wells Fargo should easily be able to support any browser released in the last 5 years, just by using modern techniques and not relying on browser-specific code.

with opera, not sure with firefox and such, you can change the browser identity string. just an fyi
12/2/2007 12:42:47 PM
yes, we covered that. you have to use the User Agent Switcher extension for FF.

between the browser issue and the horse and buggy picture on the top of the http://www.wellsfargofinancial.com page I always feel like I'm going back in time when i'm forced to visit the site. i'm glad i won't have to go there anymore.[Edited on December 2, 2007 at 12:59 PM. Reason : gibberish]
