left my car sitting out in the sun after it got out of the wash for like 10 minutes before they finally got to it, by then the water had dried and spottedTHENone of the employees pulled a huge ford truck around and parked it next to mine, he proceeded to get out and literally SLAMMED the door against my cari walked over and, sure enough, there's a huge white mark going down the side of my cari go over and get the manager (at this point i'm trying my hardest not to be an ass about things, as that doesn't help anything at all) and show it to him, he tries to rub it out with his fingers, he gets the paint off but the clearcoat is still scratched to hellhe's like "well... we can run it through the wash again..."me: "do you think i'm that much of an idiot? a car wash does not remove scratches..."so eventually i tell him i'm taking it to the dealership and getting them to fix it, and he told me to bring the bill back to them and they'd reimburse me.i got him to put it in writing so in case i come back and he's like "hell no, i don't remember that" i can take them to small claims court.grr.and to think, i pay you people $60 a month to get my car washed. i mean, i never expected much out of auto bell to start with, but at least keep my car in the same condition it was when it came in.

is autobell a touchless or do they have the tentacle things? its been years since i've been to one? i dont want my truck getting scratched up by those spinny things
11/30/2007 2:38:34 PM
11/30/2007 2:38:35 PM
i don't got time for that shit son10 minutes at a car wash >= 2 hours spent detailing car at home
11/30/2007 2:39:19 PM
he can probably afford it
11/30/2007 2:40:05 PM
the tentacle ones, not the spinny brush thingies... the wash system they have is the same one that auto manufacturers use to wash cars after they come off the assembly lineand the $60 thing is a really good deal, you get unlimited super polypress washes (their best wash).. each one is normally like $25, and i usually wash my car once or twice a week]
11/30/2007 2:40:32 PM
washing /= detailing
11/30/2007 2:42:03 PM

11/30/2007 2:42:47 PM

I used to take my car to Bunkey's every 3-4 weeks. Now it's been 3-4 months since I've washed it. I feel guilty. "A dirty car is a sign of civic responsibility" but a dirty car also shortens the lifespan of your paint. And makes me sad.Funny story: the one time I went to that autobell on millbrook, I paid with a card, then realized I didn't have any bills to leave a tip. I asked if they could charge my card again and give me cash (which Bunkey's will do) and he said no. I felt like an ass because I wasn't going to be able to leave a tip, until I remembered that I had a little change in the car...long story short I ended up leaving a $2.00 tip in quarters and dimes. I apologized to the kid for the format, but he agreed it was better than no tip at all.[Edited on November 30, 2007 at 3:01 PM. Reason : d]

11/30/2007 3:59:50 PM

11/30/2007 4:19:28 PM

11/30/2007 4:21:18 PM

I've never had good luck with that place, evan. Sorry to hear that and hope they make it right. My suggestion is to make friends with a used car dealer and get them to have their detailer do yours every once in a while. Detailer gives the dealership a volume discount and you get a good deal. I like the people at Triangle Imports but ymmv.
11/30/2007 4:33:29 PM
^yeah, i've heard that suggestion beforei think i'm just gonna start going to bunkey's
11/30/2007 4:34:44 PM
11/30/2007 4:35:07 PM
I have one too. Spending that much $$$ on washing a car just seems like an epic waste unless you make over 100K a year. Until I make that much, I'm just gonna go do it myself for cheap/free.
11/30/2007 4:42:57 PM
right now it's against city codeand if evan never tips them i'm sure the kids there hate him since they obviously see him so much quit washing your car dumbass
11/30/2007 4:51:06 PM
you people?!
11/30/2007 4:55:08 PM
^^it is not against city code for commercial entities, plus they recycle the vast majority of their water.also, i tip every single time i've gotten my car washed there. in fact, the guys at the garner one argue over who gets my car. i had never been to the milbrook one before.
11/30/2007 5:04:57 PM
I probably spend 60$ a month on stuff just to clean my car with.60$ isnt really that much money. If youre going to be washing a vehicle for 6 hours like I sometimes do, its trivial.Polish ftw
11/30/2007 7:18:09 PM
only washed my truck once in the last 4 years
11/30/2007 7:24:43 PM
i washed my old honda i think twice in its entire life
