You need to put the line out in the information in the first post when making this thread, very crucialIf it wasn't for sports betting, sporting events wouldn't be televised

Thats stupid, we've all seen and heard the speech a hundred times by now. Stop living in the past and just play the game.
11/27/2007 1:11:23 PM
^ It's a special and inspirational speech to a lot of people, and its not even about NC State so I don't see how watching it is living in the past. Starting tomorrow its Jimmy V week on espn to help raise awareness and funding for cancer research, so that is why they are showing it[Edited on November 27, 2007 at 1:17 PM. Reason : .]
11/27/2007 1:14:07 PM
it will be good publicity for state
11/27/2007 1:14:40 PM
They are not showing the speech because NCSU is playing, but because it is cancer awareness week or something like that. And as the announcers mentioned last night during the Wake game, if you have seen it once, you should want to watch it again because it is that good of a speech.
11/27/2007 1:15:45 PM
I've never seen it.
11/27/2007 1:20:06 PM
i haven't either, i want to see it

it makes me tear up every timebetween him and whenever Yow speaks, they can do it everytime to me i swear.cancer sucks, my dads a survivor...so its not just about NC State its about alot more.
11/27/2007 1:27:58 PM
Most people watching the game wont care thoughAnd they'll be pissed to sit through 13 minutes of speech instead of the start of the gameA nice gesture by ESPN, but not in the best interests of the majority of their viewers

11/27/2007 1:36:32 PM
could you send me the link for the gamethxs in advance

at least we're not playing unc and having to sit through 13 minutes of this pregamehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y78PMPsqCI

Even if all the State fans in the country watch, they will still represent less than 10 percent of the audience for this gameWhen I tune it to watch a Texas-Missouri game, I don't want to see a Quinn Synder Biopicjust like someone tuning into the game tomorrow couldn't care less about watching the speech of a man who died 14 years agoThis would be different if the game was on Raycom or some local channel, but on a national channel like ESPN, the State fans make up a negligible percentage.
11/27/2007 1:51:30 PM
It's unbelievable how much almost everyone in this country is affected by cancer and to say you can't sit through 13 minutes of quite possibly one of the most inspirational speeches ever given is pretty fuckin sad
11/27/2007 1:54:24 PM
Most people would rather watch the first 5 minutes of the game than the speechNot locally, but the majority of the national audience that will be watching this gameI don't see how I can make it any clearer
11/27/2007 1:55:59 PM
I guarantee you most of the people in this country would rather watch Jimmy V's speech than watch n.c. state basketball
11/27/2007 1:57:38 PM
Two top 30 teams live or a speech from 14 years agoI think you're wrong
