The UK version is much better than the US version, yes.

Mostly because Julian trying to do the Iggy scream in NYC Cops is hilariawesome.

This is a great album, and I've always been back and forth between this and Room on Fire as my favorite Strokes album. First Impressions is good too, especially the second half.
