So I'm a total idiot when it comes to being romantic and having romantic ideas. I want to add some romance into my relationship but I don't know where to start aside from candlelit dinners and picnics. Share some of your romance ideas here.

GHB and its all moot.

ahahahahaha awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwHave you talked to megs about this? She may- not feel any more is necessary- be able to give you the answers you wantWhat exactly do you want to achieve with "adding some romance": making her smile, happier, surprising her, getting laid more, atoning for your hours?
11/21/2007 10:17:11 AM
find out what she likes and do something sweet with that. It's not the best example, but I had a guy give me a pink GBA and some games for valentine's day, and it was much better than receiving flowers which would die in a week My current boyfriend will surprise me with things like twizzlers or other candies that I like and we'll sit and eat those while watching movies. I'm also trying to come up ways to be romantic over a long distance relationship, so I might check this thread more often ]

My girl and I like to find different restaurants that we've never been to (especially smaller ones) and try them out. She especially enjoys it if I surprise her by taking her out to something like this.rent a cabin in the mountains for the weekend.pick something you want to cook for dinner and get all the ingredients and invite her to cook it together with you before you eat it. catherine and i love to cook together. full meals from appetizers to desserts.going for walks..doesnt have to be on a beach or in the mountains (tho when you have the chance those are nice). For me, nights are best, especially on pedestrian friendly city streets if its a safe area (city lights at night are nice).showing up with flowers, even if youre just going to hang out. doing this every so often out of the blue is nice. doesnt have to be roses either. but this should only be done on an infrequent basis imo since its somewhat cliche[Edited on November 21, 2007 at 10:27 AM. make her a mixed cd
11/21/2007 10:37:35 AM
^^ omg, hahahahaha^ that's a good idea
11/21/2007 10:53:47 AM
making a mix CD of christmas songs being performed by bands/artists she likes is always good this time of year. I try and do that for Cat around Christmas.
11/21/2007 10:56:05 AM
If there's something she likes that you haven't been too willing to do in the past, that can earn you some brownie points. For example, I really like The Music Man, but my boyfriend hates musicals. So when he surprised me with tickets to go see it, it was really unexpected and nice. A lot of girls want to take dancing lessons or stuff like that, which some guys tend to deem too "girly."
11/21/2007 10:57:40 AM
find a picture of the two of you and frame it for her.get creative and make a frame. you can use lots of things for the framing.i once made a frame out of some driftwood that i had found for a girlfriend...she said it was one of the most thoughtful gifts she had ever gotten
11/21/2007 11:16:49 AM
Shortly after my bf and I started dating, we went to the zoo. Pretty sure the picture I had someone take of us was the first picture of us together. I framed it with a spare frame I had lying around ($0.50 clearance FTW) and it's still on his desk at work What I do for him that could be deemed romantic:- have dinner just about ready when he walks in the door in the evening- do his laundry- clean - make him brownies or cookies for no reason- take care of his dog- cuddle with him while we watch footballWhat he does for me- brings me dinner at work- kisses me when he leaves for work and straightens the covers- feeds my cat when I'm not up/there- Watches Heroes with me when I come home one. fucking. hour. after it's off- Goes girl-watching with meMaybe those will be a good starting point

Take her flowers at work. Girls love it when other girls see what their man does for them. Also, think up some creative ideas for dates other than basic dinner/movies stuff. Go ice skating or go to a park and feed the ducks.

awww this is a cute thread It's all about knowing your girlfriend, her likes and dislikes and what not. When i'm not feeling top notch my finace will bring me home some dark chocolate and wine that he knows i like. It's a nice gesture and shows that he knows me well enough to know what i like and i need. It's all about the little things too like taking her to a movie and letting her choose the show for example.
11/21/2007 12:13:40 PM
Let her out of the kitchen for the evening.
11/21/2007 12:37:33 PM
I usually give him expensive cheese and I make it different kind/age/variety every time. He loves it so much. The one thing he does that I love is:He borrows my car at night when he goes to work. Sometimes when I go to work in the morning there will be a diet Coke and a single rose (or group of three) on the steering wheel.
11/22/2007 10:34:21 AM
i feel you kevin...it would be hard for me to be romantic with that also]

11/22/2007 12:40:14 PM
the little things always matter & they all add upif you think of something sweet or thoughtful to do for her, never decide not to do iteven if its picking up a copy of a book you know she wants to read, or folding her clothes when the dryer buzzes. you'll never regret doing the small things, but you may regret NOT doing them
11/22/2007 6:30:57 PM
hahahahaha... folding her clothes, washing her car ???? hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahadont let them fool you man. theres being romantic...and then theres being taken advantage of. Some of these suggestions are great. Going out to random places to eat, bringing her a flower once in a while, mixed cd... are all great. But cleaning her car or folding her clothes is just ludicrous
11/22/2007 6:57:28 PM
^ um. While I dont think washing her car or folding her clothes is 'romantic' its definitely not being taken advantage of...if you love someone you do things for them, as a kind gesture knowing they do things for you.

A bunch of ideas for spicing things up are here!http://www.toss-my-salad.com/
11/22/2007 8:10:00 PM
^^ i dont know. I base my comments off of a guy I knew who washed his girls car and did little shit like that... all the while the girl was fucking one of my friends.
11/22/2007 8:17:21 PM
^ So one example means that all women are whores and therefore helping out your significant other isn't worth it.Yeah.

since we're going off personal examplesa mixed cd is probably the gayest thing a guy has ever given mehonestly, that move is played the fuck outit worked in middle school and those days are long goneits going to come down to the girl. some of us appreciate small favors over food and flowers. if you're doing to do flowers, send them to work.
11/22/2007 11:08:18 PM
u find out small things she likes. and then you do them for no obvious reason. a surprise on tuesday means more than a surprise on a holiday. it doesn't have to be big at all. the thought actually means more than you think.
11/22/2007 11:15:06 PM
breakfast in bed?glow in the dark condoms!
11/22/2007 11:17:02 PM
Do not send roses, find out her favorite flower other than roses, cause everyone send roses. if you have to send roses, dont send red roses, go with pink or soemthing to kick up a notch.....
11/23/2007 3:30:00 AM
Something easily done, and often overlooked is leaving handwritten notes. And when I say notes, I don't mean some slushy love poem with hearts all over it-- just a simple, heartfelt letter. Using a little humor never hurts (albeit in good taste).I don't care who you are, girl or guy ... getting a handwritten, sincere letter always makes you feel good.

sneak her wallet out of her purse and put a little note in it with the cards she most uses, so next time she pays for something she'll get a lil surprise.
