Apparently mine breaks some sort of dorm fire code. However, I have been told that some are okay to have, does anyone know what these may be?

Well played african

all of them should be fine to have, as long as they have a grounding plug and you don't have stuff that isn't rated for the things you have plugged into them.also you can't have cords crossing the floor. they must be out of the way.do you have more than one plugged into an outlet?

Just get one of those six outlet adapters and attach it to the wall plug, then run 6 powerstrips out of it. That should be adequate for all your electronics.

you may not run 1 power strip off of another power strip. You may not use multitap blocks on a drop cord/power strip.

it can't be just a power strip... has to have a surge circuit. If the package said power strip, it won't trip from a power overload and would still result in a fire just like with the extension cords you aren't allowed to have. You should buy ones that specifically say Surge Protection. Also no daisy-chaining (running one from another), no multitaps, no extension cords, no candles, no plug-in air fresheners. Says an RA, now in a second Hall Director job at a third school.
