Any jeweler should be able to up-size a ring, but there are limitations to it.

weakening the material is your biggest concern.

upsizing a ring one size won't have too many adverse effects. but if you did it multiple times or had to stretch it more than one size then there would be.

It depends on the material. What's the ring made of?

ill prob just end up printing the ring off online and taking it to kay or some jeweler to see what they have to say about it.

Some rings are easily stretched and resized, others need to have the shank cut and a piece inserted. Jewel inset bands can be a problem. Platinum and Titanium are virtually impossible because of the material involved. Some like silver rings have a certain amount of plating and it's hard to match the finish exactly on the insert in the shank. GOOGLE is your friend.

5 is actually kinda small. A majority of women wear a 6 or 7.

did your girl gain weight?

or did you get a different, bigger girl?

if the answer to either of these questions is "yes", there's a good chance that the solution isn't to make the ring bigger.

its not expensive (depending where you go), but make sure you really need to before bothering. i had it done to a really nice ring i got as a graduation gift, and now it needs to be smaller... turning out to be a real pain

1 size is easy, after 1 or 2 (depending on the ring) it gets complicated and expensive...

also, most places will resize for free depending on where you get it
