you can knife him or not, he does matter. i start off with the pistol and only take 2-3 steps forwards and shoot the first two guys WAY in the back in the cargo area (empty your pistol here so you will auto reload after you sprint) sprint up toss flash bang, and kill the two in the back of the cargo space where you are going into the other room - toss flash bang before entering (try to place it in the middle of the room so it will affect all AI, then run up to the cover where the plane has been breached and the rest is easy.
