all this recent parity triggered by george mason is crazy. that was the shot heard round the world and now there is parity trhoughout college sports. Not only is their parity but the dominant programs have all slumped down and we are seeing more big upsets than ever beforeWhat is the cause of all this? Do you think it has more to do with level talent or motivation?womens' baskebtall was the most top heavy of all until the last 2 years-uconn has leveled out. tenn is still there but nobodys going undefeated. ncstate beat duke in the acc tournament and unc lost 4 games last year. maryland didn't dominate but won it all as freshmen. mens basketball-kentucky, duke, uconn down. ucla and unc are up but they aren't anywhere near "unc and ucla". now that florida is in the nba there is no real frontrunner. wide open.college football-biggest surprise- nebraska, notre dame, miami, fsu, penn state, all down and out. #2 loses to an unraked opponent every week. we've seen the 2 biggest upsets in college football history and kansas is 10-0. all inthe same season. What happened to the days of knowing it would be usc vs texas alll year long?[Edited on November 16, 2007 at 12:29 PM. Reason : rutgers]
