11/8/2007 11:51:31 AM

11/8/2007 11:51:34 AM
I actually got the thread idea from you elkaybie, where jlanca says he coulda phrased that question better, I just assumed he asked you to marry him but you were sleepy so you grunted. So that's good news.
11/8/2007 11:53:15 AM
haha, "will you marry me?""*grumble* go away i'm sleepy"but for real, he was talking about work...I was turning it into something that happened last night
11/8/2007 11:57:29 AM

11/8/2007 11:58:18 AM

11/8/2007 12:46:52 PM
11/8/2007 12:48:26 PM
i don't see why you need to graduate to get married, but that's just me
11/8/2007 12:49:24 PM
not engaged, but i could totally see it in the future
11/8/2007 12:49:59 PM
I don't need toI don't really care either way, so his preference wins.
11/8/2007 12:50:23 PM
You know, I tried real hard for that whole "the one" thing, thinking that was the right way to go about it. It was not.Now I'm pretty sure I just need to fuck things. Well, female-people-things. And as far as the religion aspect, I'll just do like whichever Saint that was who said, "Yo Jesus, make me a good guy and shit...but do it in like ten years. kthx."[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 12:53 PM. Reason : at least during my early to mid 20s]
11/8/2007 12:53:11 PM
In retrospect, I think I had a shadow of doubt about my wife being "the one" before we got married. In fact, I personally believe that each of us can fall in love with not just "the one" but a choice from a somewhat broader spectrum...and it's not written in stone. A good relationship takes time and peace of mind to grow. All that said, there was pretty damn good evidence to suggest that I should have bailed out of that one before we said "I do." But I pretty much ignored it, only to have to come to terms with it later.Moral of the story: TAKE A GOOD HARD OBJECTIVE LOOK AT WHO YOU'RE WITH BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO MAKE IT PERMANENT.
11/8/2007 1:09:35 PM
I thought he was until he started saying stuff like "I dont want a serious relationship" and "I like you but I don't love you" ... after we'd been together a year. I'm still with him tho, since it takes years for him to "let someone in".... and he helps pay my mortgage and cleans and I get sex and he cooks once in a while...
11/8/2007 1:21:18 PM
i thought sountil i realized after 4 years that i didn't think so
11/8/2007 1:22:38 PM
yep. getting married next year
11/8/2007 1:33:15 PM
DIVORCES ARE EXPENSIVE GUYS
11/8/2007 1:34:06 PM
Marriages are expensive guys
11/8/2007 1:38:32 PM
lol zxappeal what big red sirens did you have? Our relationship isn't perfect but we damn well love eachother and put the effort in to make eachother happy.I don't want to get married anytime soon, I just want to know you're at least somewhat committed to me long term.
11/8/2007 1:39:30 PM
11/8/2007 1:40:10 PM
11/8/2007 1:40:45 PM
I think that I would live unhappily for the rest of my life before I got divorced.I'm only getting married once
11/8/2007 1:41:38 PM
I was fortunate. We didn't really have any mutual assets, and thank god we didn't buy a house (I'd been wanting to).Bottom line...though I paid her post-separation support for a year, I had plenty of documented evidence that would have absolved me of most, if not all, financial liability. It took a while to come to terms with the fact that, although she couldn't take care of herself worth a damn, those were her decisions and she brought it on herself. I suppose deep down I was just waiting for the axe to fall. And it did.I'll say it again...feelings will fuck you if you let 'em. Choose carefully and wisely.[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 1:44 PM. Reason : shit.]

I want to grow old with my man, I think we'd have a blast!
11/8/2007 1:46:20 PM
I've thought so for a long time now.
11/8/2007 1:46:59 PM
yeah i wifed her
11/8/2007 1:47:44 PM
11/8/2007 1:51:06 PM
hoping to wife her soon, but its probably gonna be a while. She wants to finish graduate school and be in the working world for a while before doing the deed.I think its more expensive not being married. Mostly because we aren't living together.
11/8/2007 1:51:12 PM

Technically not until we separated, or so she says. But she left me for this other dude, who turned out to be a total dud. The grass was greener, but all it was was some cheap-ass spray paint. True color was shit-brown.BTW, I trust her about as far as I could throw her with two car batteries tied to each leg.[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 2:01 PM. Reason : BTW.]
