i need to wire the porch, so i can have some nice fans out there.
11/6/2007 1:05:11 PM
i need to replace my ceiling fan in my room. its unbalanced and im scared its gonna chop me up like that helicopter almost did to that chick on vertical limit. i can't sleep w/o the sound of a fan so i have a stand up oscillating fan for now.
11/6/2007 1:10:02 PM
i like the ones in stool pigeons
11/6/2007 1:12:47 PM
Oh word...I'm trying to get something like that for my downstairs den. I want more lighting though. Like if it had some small lights built into the fans as well.

11/6/2007 5:15:26 PM
^^ i'd like to see that bad boy in actionand cool thread btw (no pun)
11/6/2007 5:39:24 PM
those big fans are real bad ass, ive seen them in real lifethey arent that fun to watch thought because they go a lot slower than youd expect
11/6/2007 6:22:39 PM
The big fans they have up in the box seating area in Kenan Stadium are Big Ass Fans (though not quite as huge as the one in the pic up there...they make them from 8' to 24' diameter).I don't know whether the fact that they're used at UNC would be an endorsement or a discredit. i worked in a place with "big ass fans". blades were easily 20ft long
11/7/2007 3:59:49 PM
i often wonder how well these function. i think they would be neat to have around.
11/7/2007 4:19:23 PM
^ That shit looks horrid.
11/7/2007 4:20:18 PM
Go inside the FBO at Wilmington's airport (Air Wilmington I believe) and they have a 'Big Ass Fan'.
11/7/2007 4:29:15 PM
it's from the future!
11/7/2007 4:29:22 PM
I'll probably get a Minka Aire fan for my living room whenever I get around to running the wiring and putting in a box. They have some awesome fans, but they are a little pricey ($300+.)This one would match my floors:This one is just really interesting:
11/7/2007 4:59:25 PM
it'd be cool as shit if they were counter-rotational like twin boat engines
11/7/2007 5:00:55 PM
I'd like a fan made from a vintage airplane propeller. It'd have to have one hell of a motor to get the heavy thing to turn, prolly.
11/7/2007 5:03:25 PM
you could always hollow it out if it's wooden
11/7/2007 5:05:53 PM
cool fans.
