i got swollen ass lymphnodes. got cephalexin from the dr but other than that whats a way for me to make this shit feel better? i can barely talk, can't swallow no homo, just big fucking discomfort, couldn't even sleep last night

an NSAID such as tylenol or toradol, etc. will help with the swelling.

but you should really go see the doctor. swollen lymph glands can be a sign of a lot of shit, some of it serious.

That's just the time you have to take it to make sure it doesn't come back resistant. You should see some results within 48 hours- ie. if you have a fever it should be dramatically reduced and swelling should go down somewhat. If you have a fever and it persists for more than 48 hours you should call your doctor.

What you have is probably lymphangitis and most likely resulted from you having a cold and/or sinus infection and whatever nastyness there was migrating into your lymph system. The antibiotics they gave you should kill the infection, and drinking fluids should help make sure the gunk cycles out. You may want to put a warm compress on your throat (warm because the swelling is caused by congealed puss rather than increased blood flow.)

The swelling COULD take as much as 2 weeks to go away completely by the way. It should stop being incredibly painful/annoying within a few days though if the treatment works.

If you notice red lines under the skin or if the pain/swelling increases dramatically then you should probably go to the hospital or see your doctor immediately. Acute lymphangitis can be deadly- but you'd probably crying if you had it that bad.

Also, if you absolutely can't eat after 48 hours you'll probably want to see your doctor. If the swelling's blocking off your throat that badly, they might have to give you IV nutrient fluids. Again, this is very unlikely and only if you actually CAN'T eat things.
