If you all have not figured this out yet i will clue you all in.There are only a handful of us on TWW that are remotely qualified to give any kind of medical advice.I'm sorry but i got my MD from WebMD doesn't count. The only advice you are going to get from us is to go to the fucking doctor.SURE i will have a few ideas on whats ailing you and a few ideas of how to treat it at home, but in order to protect my license(and the rest of the qualified peeps on TWW actually want to obtain their licenses in the near future) so the only advice we can safely give is to go to the fucking doctor.SO GO TO THE FUCKING DOCTORif you do not have insurance or are not a studentyou can go to a minute clinic... there are several in the triangle http://www.minuteclinic.com they are cheap and fast and can handle the basics.the open door health clinic sponsored by urban ministriesthe health departmentlast resort the ED: they have social workers and other people that can help you find ways to pay for your bill

i hate the doctor[Edited on October 30, 2007 at 8:48 PM. Reason : hdz]
10/30/2007 8:47:19 PM
^and yet considering your thread, you really should go see one
10/30/2007 8:47:48 PM
and who would want ANY kind of help from a bitch like you? wow.
10/30/2007 8:48:57 PM
sometimes people might want to have an idea of what it is before they see a doctor. You know, so when the doctor says "you gonna die" they aren't so surprised because they heard it first on tww.
10/30/2007 8:50:48 PM
so, I got this mole on the back of my arm, and it has been kinda buggin me recently. Do you think that it might be cancerous?
10/30/2007 8:51:58 PM
10/30/2007 8:52:36 PM
yeah, but we'll always tell you "YOU GONNA DIE!!!" cause that's how we roll, bitch! "I got a splinter in my finger, whattaido?""YOU GONNA DIE, BITCH!!!"
10/30/2007 8:53:50 PM
the patients of mine who lived to leave the ICU probablyat least i offered SEVERAL low costand at least one convenient option(s) for qualified medical advice.and what annoys me even more is the fact that some of the same people post in all of the ask Dr TWW threads as if they have a wisp of medical training.
10/30/2007 8:54:48 PM
i hope you aren't talking to me
10/30/2007 8:59:24 PM
since i'm a noob this rule does not apply to me, correct?
10/30/2007 9:01:23 PM
nope, evan is not who i am referring to.There are several med students on herethats it... students, they have no license to practice medicine.i have a license to practice nursing... which severely limits what advice i can give.especially advice i am willing to put in writing.
10/30/2007 9:02:34 PM
^You take the internet WAAAAAAAAAAAY to seriously.
10/30/2007 9:04:29 PM
in which case i 100% support this threadi'm not putting my ass/license on the line for a tdubber.
10/30/2007 9:04:32 PM
10/30/2007 9:05:53 PM
nope, i just had a shitty last 2 hours at work with a trainwreck of an admission from the OR and im taking it out on you guys
10/30/2007 9:07:04 PM
10/30/2007 9:07:42 PM
brainysmurf do you work on the wakemed neuro unit?
10/30/2007 9:08:07 PM
no the other level one NICUlooking at wake tho.... they pay betteralso looking to move into surgical/trauma... i want crashing patients and codesand eventually lifeflight -- but i have about 4 more years of experience to gain and several expensive certifications like TNCC CCRN hell maybe even NR-EMTP
10/30/2007 9:12:58 PM
i'd love to do lifeflight, did some precepting with them once, 'twas funany time you'd like to come ride along with me at cary, you're more than welcome to do so. we usually get at least a code every other day.
10/30/2007 9:14:55 PM
yay, i keep meaning to do the duke lifeflight ride along.... i just never get around to sending the email.duke lifeflight * Must be 18 years of age or older. * Weight can not exceed 200 lbs (90kg) to fly. We also offer ride-a-long shifts with our ground units. * Ride-a-long candidates are nurses, EMT-B, I, or P, police, fire, doctors, PA’s, PT/OT, and students of those disciplines.[Edited on October 30, 2007 at 9:20 PM. Thats nursing for you, none of the pay is what it should be.
10/31/2007 2:27:06 AM
10/31/2007 4:18:32 AM
I'm pretty sure everyone knew this....
10/31/2007 6:05:06 AM
I only listen to real doctors and anecdotal evidence from random strangers on the internet. If I want the opinion of a nurse I'll call my mom.
10/31/2007 6:58:18 AM
It's not like people here expect real medical advice, at least I hope not.
10/31/2007 7:48:51 AM
I'd take the opinion of a vet over that of a nurse.
10/31/2007 7:52:38 AM
^ you're an idiot then
10/31/2007 7:54:46 AM
haha, tr00
10/31/2007 7:55:35 AM
I know some really stupid nurses. Coincidentally, they all went to ECU as well.
10/31/2007 7:56:11 AM
I trust a murse more than I trust a nurse. At least a murse can change it's own oil and not go "OMG! OMG! OMG!" in an emergency.[Edited on October 31, 2007 at 9:47 AM. Reason : s]
10/31/2007 9:46:39 AM
brainysmurf, judging by your hostile behavior and use of short paragraphs, it is my duty as a doctor to inform you that you may be suffering from that MSRA staff infection that's going around.i recommend you buy a leg-brace, eat as much ice cream as you can, and take some ibuprofen. should pass in no time.
10/31/2007 9:55:44 AM
10/31/2007 11:04:56 AM
wtf is this ish
10/31/2007 11:29:37 AM
god i hate ugly nurses....its already bad enough your at the hospital but then you have to deal w/ an ugly broad on a power trip.

How do you prove it? I dress like a poor person sometimes.
10/31/2007 1:39:08 PM
look rough, dress poor, and wet your pants.
10/31/2007 1:45:16 PM
No problem.
