hey all, of all the things computer related, im afriad im most unfamiliar with audio drivers / hardware / and their settings.

my current setup is 5.1 logitec (thx if that makes a diff)

my current soundcard is a cheap Creative Audigy SE (SB0570)

my Mobo is a evga 680i...

i use Winamp and Volume logice 3.1...

volume logic uses AndrewLabs ATSurround Processor plugin (dl'ed from winamp's site) so that i can get my rear speakers in on the playback...

ok so here is my problem... the rear 2 speakers "pop" or "scratch" on certain songs at certain times, very consistently... i would say 1 of 5 songs does it, not to a point thats unbearable, but some songs its overbearing.

Is this my soundcard? does my mobo have a better build in sound? is it the plugin? or could it be the plugin's settings?

i can give you a full list of settings of the ATsurround plugin if nec

thanks!

Disable the winamp plugins and try letting the soundcard do the upmixing. See if that helps. Also, make sure all your physical speaker connections are good.

Does it happen with all audio files or just certain ones?

Verify if it happens with the same songs over and over or if it just happen every X number of songs. I'm starting to suspect bad audio files and not a hardware or software problem.

its deffinatly 100% the same audio songs that pop and fuzz...and at the exact same spots in the song too...

i was thinking it just happend to pop/fuzz at that type of sound / frequency and whichever song that happend to have that sound / frequency it would do it...

so is this just a sign of bad music?
