how it is they think a treadmill could hold back a plane being pushed by 100,000 pounds of thrust
10/29/2007 1:37:59 PM
It's a *really* fast treadmill
10/29/2007 1:38:30 PM
the plane is really* powerful
10/29/2007 1:39:03 PM
um, treadmills have safety features that cut you off when you get off the treadmill.
10/29/2007 1:39:35 PM
seeing someone fall on a treadmill is really funny
10/29/2007 1:40:46 PM

10/29/2007 1:41:59 PM

hang on a sec, we weren't using our thinking capsif teh treadmill/conveyor belt was going the same direction the plane was pointed, it would accelerate to lift much more quickly. we were thinking of using it the same way we would as a person getting stationary excercise, and not like conveyor belts that are 100 ft. long help travelers traverse the breadth of the terminal more rapidly.

an airplane on an escalator would be much more entertaining

if it were a normal treadmill, but ginormous, it would obviously work like this:]]
10/29/2007 2:32:48 PM
that's obviously a photoshop, since the plane wouldn't take off in real life.

I heard Kim Jong Il was working on a treadmill system for aircraft carriers that will allow planes to take off and land on a smaller space depending on the direction of the treadmill. The problem is that he doesn't have an aircraft carrier or a plane yet to test it on.
