i know there are some other suckers out there
10/26/2007 6:29:59 PM
yall muthafuckas gonna fry
10/26/2007 7:03:25 PM
that shits easy yo
10/26/2007 7:04:08 PM
me, and i havent even studied at all... the only reason that im going is b/c its multiple choice and i paid to take it.
10/26/2007 7:04:23 PM
I usually have fecal emrgencies in the afternoon. But for real, that shits mad easy yo
10/26/2007 7:05:50 PM
haha, poor bastards.
10/26/2007 7:16:32 PM
you in CE ?
10/26/2007 7:23:54 PM
you only have to get like 55% right
10/26/2007 7:25:28 PM
you better know your statics son
10/26/2007 7:26:17 PM
im taking it and it better be easy like you guys are sayin
10/26/2007 7:27:28 PM
sucks if you havent had 40% of the courses that cover the materialbut if you are good at math you can ace that and just do semi-well on the rest[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 7:28 PM. Reason : ]
10/26/2007 7:28:34 PM
when I took it years ago I had a an assload of fucking bolt shear problems on it,and the transportation questions I got were bullshit
10/26/2007 7:30:41 PM
its actually pretty easyi didn't study for a single second and i felt confident during the entire thing. no sweat
10/26/2007 7:31:59 PM
good luck dudes don't stay up too late your intuition is worth more than your knowledge on the fe (assuming you know the basics)
10/26/2007 7:32:35 PM
it's gonna get owned
10/26/2007 8:54:29 PM
this'll help you study:/message_topic.aspx?topic=499605
10/26/2007 8:59:30 PM
holla for the FEadam8778 and hondaguy as well.practice morning session completed... ~50% correct. damn
10/26/2007 9:34:45 PM
Yeah...Tomorrow is one of those here goes nothing kind of days. To make it more fun, my insulin pump broke this afternoon, so I get to try some new medication the emergency dept at Duke called in for me. Never used this brand of stuff in my life, hopefully I don't have a seizure tomorrow.
10/26/2007 9:41:32 PM
if you're civil or mechanical or environmental or industrial or manufacturing or aerospace, the thing should be a walk through the parknuclear, it might be a bit of a challenge but you should be fineif you're textiles or bio or or electrical or chemical or whatnot, i hope you fucking studied
10/26/2007 9:41:46 PM
with all the me classes you need as a ne, it shouldnt be very hard at all
10/26/2007 9:45:35 PM
yeah i wasn't sure what NE had to takei know my ECE knowledge prepared me for the math, physics, electrical, and statics (took it to fill an elective) parts of the test and that was pretty much iti spent about an hour or two every other day for a month studying and doing practice problems for it
10/26/2007 9:48:23 PM
yeah, ne is just me with physicshell a reactor is just a big heat sourcei have an me undergrad and i am doing ne grad with very little make up work
10/26/2007 9:50:42 PM
Kick ass and take names everyone... I intend to do just that
10/26/2007 9:54:21 PM
i cant wait~~~like 56% on the first half of the morning practice (seemed to have less actual engineering shit)
10/26/2007 10:24:16 PM
signing inI'm civil, and I'm not so sure about it being a walk in the park
10/26/2007 10:49:48 PM
10/26/2007 10:54:27 PM
i got about a 55% total on the practice exam in the book
10/26/2007 10:57:24 PM
^ yeah, same here, about to go to bed. I assume I'll see mann hall there tomorrow
10/26/2007 11:14:44 PM
I guess we will see how this goes... hoping that I am a good guesser tomorrow
10/27/2007 12:10:57 AM
I would just like to say now, anyone that knows me, my amazing ability to have Failabeetus at the last minute has succeeded again!I'm verifying my medication is working and that my blood sugar is on its way down before i go to sleep, or else I may never wake up. So much for a good night's sleep before the exam. Here goes nothing I suppose...Ahaha son of a bitch I just checked my blood sugar and it's about 60 points lower than it should be. I'm not used to doing this without my insulin pump any more... So TWW looks like I'm staying up for another hour until I can see what is going to happen to meeeeeeee...[Edited on October 27, 2007 at 12:17 AM. Reason : Fuck this fucking disease.]
10/27/2007 12:11:45 AM
well, good luck tomorrow/hope you don't die tonight
10/27/2007 12:21:09 AM
Thanks. I'll be fine, I won't die, but I might not get any sleep for the next 24 hours.
10/27/2007 12:22:52 AM
good luck man sorry about the sugar
10/27/2007 12:25:08 AM
Since I'm bored and diabeetusy right now, here's some pics of the damage and the quick fix I did to hold me over for about 7 hours until I got some Lantus insulin. The black thing in that picture, if pushed on from side to side, puts huge forces on the two caps that are holding it down. That's why that thin little twisty track thing broke on both sides over time (poor engineering). My dearly departed pump. You lasted about 2.5 years then finally decided to die. What a night you chose too you $4000 pile of dog shit.Sigh...[Edited on October 27, 2007 at 12:36 AM. Reason : / ~]
10/27/2007 12:35:59 AM
I still don't know what FE is?
10/27/2007 12:36:07 AM
Fundamentals of Engineering exam. It's a precursor to the Professional Engineering (or engineer or whatever) exam. You take it so you can prove you're not an idiot as an engineer and that you deserve your degree for your major. Then you work under some professional engineers at a company getting a variety of design and field experience so you can, four years later, get your professional engineering "certification". This means you get your own stamp as a registered NC engineer so you can approve designs and shit. It's worth a modest pay boost and it's a nice way to distinguish yourself.
10/27/2007 12:39:55 AM
oh, ok. So its like a bunch of math problems?
10/27/2007 12:42:58 AM
Sort of.It's a whole lot of design problems spanning across every field of engineering. The first section is 4 hours and 120 questions. This is a general section covering a little bit of every part of engineering you could think of like statics, mechanics, circuits, thermodynamics, etc. The second section you specify what you're going to take. Either general or civil or EE or whatever. The second section is a bit harder, more "work it out" type problems. You only have to get like 45-55% to pass and it's relative to everybody else who has taken the test as to whether you pass with a certain percentage. Honestly showing 55% competency means you're fully competent in statics and mechanics but maybe you suck at thermo and are Ok at circuits and blow balls at everything else. Or it could mean you're a jack of all trades and are good at a little bit of everything in every field of engineering.
10/27/2007 12:54:31 AM
when i left mine i gave myself a b+
10/27/2007 12:59:06 AM
FE in T - 2 Hours
10/27/2007 5:50:55 AM
Yarr! I'm a sort-of rested aidsabetic right now...Lots of time and nothing to do for the moment. I guess I'll fuxx with my calculator.Oh, I'm also going to cause a scene with my bag of needles and testing equipment. We'll see how that goes...
10/27/2007 6:22:51 AM
getting ready to walk over to mckimmon....
10/27/2007 7:02:17 AM
While it's not a amazingly hard test, I think all you fools who are all like "it's the easiest test in the world, any idiot can pass it" are the same people who say a girl is butterfaced or busted when a picture is posted on here and the girl looks better than anyone you've ever slept with.Just another form of e-peen.
10/27/2007 7:55:48 AM
fe test makes cookout taste 1000x better
10/27/2007 12:11:20 PM
how'd everyone who took the PE yesterday feel about it?[Edited on October 27, 2007 at 12:15 PM. Reason : ^^the FE is very simple compared to the PE. I finished the FE in 2 hours and needed all 8 for the PE]
10/27/2007 12:13:47 PM
^you finished which part in 2 hours?I think the earliest anyone left the morning session today was about 3.25 hours[Edited on October 27, 2007 at 12:18 PM. Reason : ]
10/27/2007 12:18:34 PM
For the FE, I finished the morning in an hour and the afternoon in an hour. For the PE, I was finishing up both sections when they were giving the 15 minute warning.[Edited on October 27, 2007 at 12:24 PM. Reason : are you posting from the test site? I'm pretty sure that's forbidden.]
10/27/2007 12:23:53 PM
the FE is soo easy
10/27/2007 12:29:59 PM
in april, i left about an hour early in the morning and almost 2 hrs early in the afternoon
10/27/2007 12:30:21 PM
the shitty part is having to wait until new years to find out your score.
