Haha when the Virginia Tech shooting occured back in April, there was a dude in the computer lab I was in whose mother called him to check to see if he was okay. Even though he was in school at NCSU.

I have a friend whose mom is kinda like that. Her worrying is more expected, though, as she's lost one of her sons already. My mom does this on occasion. "I heard there was a wreck on 40 with a tractor trailer and a motorcycle." Problem is, I don't drive a bike and I'm no trucker.

my mom checks the sexual predator list often to see if anyone's moved in near me or my s-i-l recently. she always has lots of back up plans.

ah you get used to it and just kinda zone out

I've heard my mom talk more about being careful cause cops getting their quotas filled 'near the end of the month' when it's like the 15th, and about passing stopped school buses, than I have about what she originally called for.
