Yeah a team that has only won 21 out of their last 22 games. They have no chance.

LOL I remember last year when some fool on this board who's name I won't say said Tigers in 3.

in reality, there's no way the red sox lose this series

but who in their right mind could bet against the rockies right now?

the only thing i see working against them is the long layoff

Man if you like baseball how could you not like this series?

These two teams couldn't be much hotter. One team has won 21 out of 22 games. The other just came back from 3-1 down to win 3 in a row to win. Both have exciting big hitters like Papi, Manny, Holiday, and Helton. Not to mention the lineups around those guys are really good too.

^I worry about the layoff too and how these young guys will handle Fenway and the big stage. Anyhow I will be rooting for them all the way. Go Rockies!

Rockies won 2 of 3 at Fenway this year.
Rockies outscored the Red Sox, 20-5, in the series.
Rockies were one of just two teams to beat the Red Sox's top two pitchers, Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling.

I have tickets for game 4 here in Denver

And I'll be looking for more tickets tomorrow

I've always wondered why don't baseball teams on long layoffs find another team to play one exhibition against, just to stay sharp.

from what I've heard for the most part people in Colorado couldn't give a shit about baseball/the rockies.

would a world series win make them become band wagoners and actually care?

you're right, they're even hotter now!

fan comparison isn't even fair, the rockies have only been a team for 14 years, of which only made it to the playoffs once and lost in division series. they also have only had 2 season of which they had 50 wins and barely make it over .500 each season. red sox has been around for what, 106 years? have 12 pennants and 6 world series titles?

you're out of your mind if you think that the rockies would have a huge national fan base like the sox, and you're kidding yourself if you think the red sox don't have one of the biggest bandwagon's in the nation, because they do.

Denver is a pretty good sports town. From what I read they sold out the LCS in like 10 minutes...

I'm torn as to who I want to win this

I dont really care about the Rockies much eitherway, but after they got into the playoffs on a questionable call, I almost want them to lose out of principle

I should pull for the Red Sox because they are in the AL and the Indians pushed them to the brink of elimination, but I just cant stand the majority of the cocky Sawks fans and their damn accents. Not to mention the fact that I hate almost all of the players on the team, especially Manny, Beckett, Lugo (the bizarro Prince), and Pedroia's pig nose.

I hate pulling against the AL, but no fucking way I root for the Sox.

Of course, I probably won't watch the series at all.

I'm watching b/c I love baseball...anybody who regularly follows a team in my opinion should watch the world series...its the pinnacle of baseball. I may not like the teams in it, but I know I'm gonna be watching some damn good baseball.

Anyways thanks for whoever posted that link about Matt Holliday's dad that was a great read kinda cool to have a ncsu connection there

Ehh there was more pressure for Boston to win this game IMO because of Beckett. After Beckett you don't know what you get especially with Wakefield out. Of course the Rockies rotation isn't the greatest. I think this game can mostly be chalked up to the long layoff. If Colorado can just sneak 1 win away in Boston they are in great shape.

He was on Conan last week and was telling a story about how people will bet him he can't fit certain random words into the broadcast, and the more obscure the word is, the higher the bet. Conan told him about how he'd been obsessed with the word "jub-jub" for a while (he's the one who named Selma's pet iguana Jub-Jub while he was still a writer for the Simpsons) and told Joe he'd give $1,000 to a charity of his choice if he could fit jub-jub somewhere in a world series broadcast
