Can I use MS Office 2000 on the newest Vista operating system?? I spent a lot of money a while ago on the MS Office 2000 Professional disc, and for as much as I use the apps, would rather just install it on Vista than spend another $300(?) for MS Office 2007 Professional....would this work just fine?

i just got a license last night for one of my computersit is a 502 MB dl

^^ No, it's real and offered directly by Microsoft. Hell, it's not much less expensive than the laptop+desktop license of enterprise (similar to ultimate) at the bookstore.[Edited on October 17, 2007 at 7:47 PM. Reason : less is more]

It's real and true, microsoft has been doing this for students for years. You may have to wait a few days for clearance but once you download it, you're good.[Edited on October 21, 2007 at 4:10 AM. Reason : dur]

Well its a great price, but I still have no interest in buying it. Just like I have no reason to upgrade to Vista until I get a new machine and I'm sure that all of my devices will work with it. It just doesn't add any value.

^The reason you should get this now at that price is because they aren't promising to hold that price forever. At some point you may feel like upgrading, maybe not now, but you'll be glad you paid less when you do.

It took them 4 days with me. Honestly I thought I had fucked up my email address but I rechecked it and looking at all the reviews of it on slickdeals, they check some addys to make sure they're currently enrolled and the true email holder.

So does this copy require activation or can it be loaded on more than one PC?

Technically you're allowed to install it on your desktop and your laptop ... that's all your licensed for.Btw, they're currently offering to retroactively "give" license purchasers a DVD of Office 2007 for an additional $6.95 for s&h ... I'm guessing they're offering to sell it at the same time as purchase of the license as well. But if you know how to burn your own DVD, just download it, save your cash.
