The awesome/horrible thing about my job is that to call in, you don't even have to talk to anyone. You just call an automated hotline and put in your employee number.
It's too easy to call in, I've already used half of my yearly alloted absences.

I couldn't call in yesterday morning because the entire phone system had shit the bed. So I called one of my buddies and told him to tell my supervisor that I wasn't fucking coming in.
