didnt see a thread for the new album, but two songs are up on http://www.myspace.com/coheedandcambria , and the full album is up on btjunkie.org

I don't really like The Running Free so much as I do the 2nd one, Gravediggers & Gunslingers. That is a kickass shred song

looking forward to the 4th chapter of Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star

album drops Oct 23

Chris Pennie is the man.

But it pisses me off to no end that he left dillinger for coheed and then didnt even record the drum tracks on this album.

no offense to coheed (not really my thing-tho i havent listened to this new stuff) but he's too much of a machine for their music

i saw them live a few months ago, i think it was their 1st show after recording the album. the drummer is good, but compared to dillinger he definitely has to tone his skills down a bit...but he plays all the old coheed stuff perfectly, the main thing component being time signature switches.

i really like the sound of the guitars on this record tho so far

gotta love "in keeping secrets of silent earth"

i think i've listened to blood red summer about a billion times

i gotta listen to this album more though - it has a much 'lighter' feel to it

not sure if i like it as much

The vocal range of the singer is extremely limited but they make good music.

gravediggers & gunslingers is probably already one of my all time fav coheed songs. Track 7 on the new album...kicks ass

HOLY SMOKES BATMAN

Chris Pennie did NOT record drums on this album for contractual reasons...

TAYLOR HAWKINS of the Foo Fighters plays drums on this album....i am mind blown.

when i said that i thought you already knew taylor hawkins did

thats why i was so mad. like he basically left to be a TOURING drummer with a band that doesnt push him drumwise rather than record the new DEP record in which he probably would have released another album of mind blowing percussion ownage.

"The End Chapter III - The End Complete" is a pretty epic song

overall I don't think this stacks up at all to their last album

Normally this kind of music is a bit too emo/poppy for my tastes, but for some reason I like these guys. The new album's pretty good.

First album was pretty good. "33" and "Devil in Jersey " were catchy songs that I liked listening to.

Second album was pretty shitty, all except maybe the Bonus Track. And Blood Red Summer has got to be the gayest song I've ever heard, especially when he starts sounding like a cheerleader

it's been a while since i looked in the lyric booklet, but if i remember correctly, that is actually women during blood red summer, not claudio.

the new album is amazing. so many good songs i can't choose a favorite. the ones i've played most are feathers, the title track, and mother superior. on the brink is also great, reminds me a lot of pink floyd.
