Ok guys, here is my list of players to target this week. A lot of times i like to think a week or 2 ahead, so here we go:QB Brian Griese - He finally looks adequately comfortable enough for you to consider adding him. Target him now, so when his week 8 game vs Detroit comes around you will be sitting pretty.RB Kevin Faulk - With Miami on deck, Faulk makes a great add even if morris is fine. He is a great receiver and would fill in nicely for one of your starters that have a bye.WR David Patten - Could the Aints have finally fund a solid #2 WR? Patten was good with NE, so if you are looking to take a shot on a WR in a pass happy system, then Patten is your guy*Player to watch* WR Marcus Hagans - Hagans as we all know was a former QB. If your league does return yardage, hagans may be a decent find. He has filled the role of the #2 WR as the fragile Isaac Bruce has been sidelined and Linehan sees/uses Bennett as more of a slot receiver. Id keep an eye on him.TE Greg Olsen, Donald Lee - If they are even available in your league. After playing Philly, the bears will have a nice run of teams that give up a lot of yards to TE's. Donald Lee could be real deal, but he still shares the field and sometimes PT with Bubba franks. If you are in competitive leagues, both of these guys should be takenThats all for now
10/15/2007 3:08:07 PM
when is steven jackson coming back???
10/15/2007 3:14:35 PM
well.. a few news sources estimate him back for week 8, but my gut tells me he wont be back till after their by week, which is week 10 vs NOOne catch is...if the Rams are 0-8 (which is highly possible) going into their week 10 game, do they just shut jackson down for the season and not risk reinjuring their franchise back?Time will tell, but the answer to your question is not definite, but I'd guess likely not till week 10
10/15/2007 5:29:56 PM
I've actually read sources say they might put SJ on the bench until next year, which really sucks for my fantasy team, haha.
10/15/2007 5:57:23 PM
if i was the rams' GM/coach, id shut him down too. Then they can go out and get the best OL prospect in the draft (maybe jake long?) with their high draft pick.
10/15/2007 7:17:15 PM
^X5 I too think Donald Lee is a good pick however they are on bye this upcoming week. It looks like Bubba Franks might be hurt and if it's long term, Lee is a great pickup, as Favre loves to spread the ball and looks for his TEs in the red zone.Too bad he's picked up in both my leagues though. I do have Olsen and hoping I can use him with another player for trade bait shortly.[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 7:29 PM. Reason : ]
10/15/2007 7:29:02 PM
yea, thats why i was saying i like to look a week or 2 ahead. If you have someone to drop and really need a TE he's worth the week's wait. Lee should be a top 10 TE the rest of the year[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 7:32 PM. Reason : .]

10/15/2007 8:06:48 PM
is there any point in holding on to derrick ward this season or is Brandon Jacobs going to get most of the snaps?
10/15/2007 8:44:37 PM
I'll use this thread too. Sounds good.Romo and Palmer are my QBs, but my two starting RBs were Maroney and Stephen Jackson. So, as you probably understand, I'm in desperate need of RB help.A guy in my league has Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson and Willie Parker with Brees and Eli as his QBs.What do you think of trading either Romo or Carson Palmer for either Peterson or Parker?Which one should I trade? Is it even worth it? Etc.
10/15/2007 8:52:14 PM
haha, some guy had norwood on the bench
10/15/2007 9:09:53 PM
I would trade Palmer if you had to chose one. Both are great QBs but the Bengals are sturggling without a defense and a running game. This may hurt his numbers periodically throughout the year. However I wouldn't doubt if both QBs produce the samed fantasy numbers by year end.Another counter to add is that the Bengals have used their bye week but Dallas is upcoming. So you may want to think about that as well.I would try to get LT straight up or maybe Peterson and Brees for Palmer. You could always sweeten the deal for LT by using Steven Jackson and try to get Eli or Brees as well.[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 9:12 PM. Reason : ]

Lap Dragon....I expected more outta you.
10/15/2007 9:15:04 PM
^^ Yeah, well I really don't envision a scenario where he'd give up LDT...at all. I guess Palmer for Peterson/Parker and Brees will be my pitch.

QB points are as follows:.5 for completions1 point per 20 yards6 points per touchdown-1 point per INTRB points are:1 point per 10 yards6 points per TD
10/15/2007 11:51:55 PM
^ QB gets a lot of love in that point system
10/15/2007 11:53:52 PM
^Is that a typical scoring system because that sounds like the scores every week would be in the 300's??
10/15/2007 11:59:31 PM
Yeah, sounds like Rbs don't even matter. could be a stupid league depending on other settings.
10/16/2007 12:00:39 AM
Nah, scores are usually in the 100-130 range. I don't know how you can say it sounds like RBs don't matter. How else should it have been done? One point per five yards? WRs points:1 point per 15 yards1 point per reception6 points per TD[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 12:08 AM. Reason : ]

anyone in a 14 team league? First year i am doing one this big. I think it's too big. There are only about 4 teams that are good, and everyone else has no chance of competing for the title. The league is so big, there are no players on waivers for sucky teams to pick up. Winning is nice an all, but playing in a more competitive format is better. 14 is good for a round robin, but that's not really worth it.
10/16/2007 12:33:45 AM
I agree, max 12.In the case of romo vs palmer, in that point system, trade Romo. You should be able to pull in parker and brees
10/16/2007 12:42:18 AM
Boobs should I give up on Shaun Alexander, Rudi Johnson and Cedric Benson?I didn't get to make my first 3 draft picks because I didn't get home in time and it took those 3 for my first 3 picks.
10/16/2007 12:56:05 AM
well you are in a tough spot, but you will likely not get value in return. Benson has been a complete bust and any average fantasy owner will know that. Rudi will be back. He should have sat out of last week's game completely. Alexander worries me. But it is the case of you will not get much of great value in return. You're best bet with those 2 (alexander and benson) is to hope their QB's continue to pass the ball well so it opens up more holes in the opposing defenses. Alexander should have a solid bounce back this coming week. As I said before Rudi should be fine[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 1:21 AM. GO GET MICHAEL BENNETT PEOPLE!bennett was just traded to the Buc's
10/16/2007 10:49:45 AM
Okay Rivers is killing me with his up and down play and I want to pick another QB on waiver. Someone just dropped Cutler. Is he that bad? Also Garrard, Vinny, Pennington, Lemon, and Bulger are out there...any of those worth picking up?Also should I drop Lee Evan or Vjack? Or try to get a trade for one of them. I don't think I get much for either at this time.[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 10:56 AM. Reason : Add WR help]
10/16/2007 10:53:54 AM
Garrard is probably the best on the list (either him or Cutler)...but I might take Rivers over both of them although Garrard has yet to throw an INT all season and will get you 30-40 rushing yards a weekLooks like we might see a few carries by old Priest Holmes this weekend in OaklandEDIT:Bulger is saying he'll play this week at Seattle...maybe this is his breakout game kinda like Brees had at Seattle this past week[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 10:59 AM. Reason : .]
10/16/2007 10:55:02 AM
^^ I'd add Bulger. Garrard has a difficult schedule ahead of him (with the exception of the aints in week 8). Bulger plays seattle (who got thrown on heavily by NO) Cleveland, has a bye and plays NO. If bulger stays healthy and leonard can make the defenses pay every once in a while for lining up 8 in the box, bulger could blow up in a good way.
10/16/2007 11:08:11 AM
^^^ as for the WR problem, you never drop a guy like lee evans unless you have to. Id drop jackson over evans.[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 11:09 AM. Reason : .]
10/16/2007 11:09:08 AM
pick 2Rudi Johnson @ NYJAdrian Peterson @ DalRonnie Brown @ NEAfter the monster game Sunday, I am pretty sure I am gonna stay with AP, Brown has been lighting it up for me, but NE is pretty stout and miami is likely to be behind early.
10/16/2007 11:09:27 AM
what is your league scoring format?
10/16/2007 11:10:44 AM
normal... i guess.Rushing Yards (10 yards per point)Rushing Touchdowns (6)Reception Yards (10 yards per point)Reception Touchdowns (6)Return Touchdowns (6)2-Point Conversions (2)Fumbles Lost (-2)
10/16/2007 11:14:04 AM
^^^ Also depends how healthy Rudi is. Monitor is his progress this week, I wouldn't be surprised if he splits carries with Watson.[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 11:17 AM. Reason : sp]
10/16/2007 11:17:15 AM
that would be key. Also if the bengals take a big lead, i would assume they would run watson in the 2nd half of the game.Play it safe and go peterson and brown.
10/16/2007 11:23:17 AM
He rejected the trade for Parker/Brees. Also pick three receivers:Bernard Berrian @ PhillySantana Moss vs. ArizonaAnquan Boldin @ WashingtonMarques Colston vs. AtlAnd since I've still got Palmer:Romo vs. MinnesotaPalmer vs. NY Jets[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 11:52 AM. Reason : ]
