Has any homeowners or your family members had to use one of these foundation settlement companies like Ram Jack to fix your house, or know what the ballpark range is of these guys to fix a house? I have some brick seperation in the outer wall on the back section of the house that was added on 20-30 years ago, and I want to know what its going to run, but I don't want to call a guy out for an estimate that I can't afford to do anything on for the next 2 years. Also, do you know if these guys can repair a foundation to the point that you can add onto the house with a second story and what that runs to raise a roof? I know I should be talking to a contractor, but I live in a small town and we have one old guy left that does some housework, and he doesn't exactly give accurate estimates. So I would be forced to get a contractor to ride at least 30 minutes to come down here and look at it for nothing on his part. And yes I googled, but all the sites just said "Price Varies, Get an Estimate!"

I don't see how anyone is going to give you an accurate estimate based on limited info, without having seen the place.

My coworker has some pretty extensive knowledge about this. First, he talked to some guys about rental property needing foundation work and they gave him estimates, then he actually had to have them come out and do some work on another rental property he needed to unload, so I imagine he might be able to give me some basic estimates in regards to his situation that could apply to you to get an idea.Send me a PM to keep reminding me, as I don't look at tdub much during the work day, so it might take me a couple days to remember.

I talked to my coworker, he said the going rate quoted by a couple different foundation repair places was about $1000 per pier you needed jacking.
